When it's a true pirate and not some pescadore playing music I have to wonder why they choose to operate on a freq occupied by pescadorados. I assume the pirate might be rockbound and can't qsy, or they simply can't hear said pescadoreadors.

The peskies on 6925 kHz LSB are known play music over each other, either for fun or as attempted jamming?  Maybe that's what Chris heard on 6970 kHz?

They commonly do it around Xmas and New Years. I've always figured more than a few of them are Mexican and Venezuelan oil workers stuck out on the rigs for the holidays? I once heard the Nicaraguan Coast Guard bs'ing with them. Nothing serious , just rag-chewing.
