Title: 6903.5 USB MARS
Post by: Zoidberg on September 24, 2011, 0057 UTC
9/24/11, 6903.5 USB, 0050z: MARS net, AA stations.  Part of QSO sounded like a YL op having difficulty with PACTOR software.

I'm guessing this is the same gal I heard the other day also on 6903.5 USB 0019z-0023z 9/9....AR6BB (Patricia) doing a power test from 50 Watts down to 5 Watts.  I could tell a big difference when she turned off her amp and went down to 25 watts, but couldn't really hear much of a difference between the 15, 10 & 5 watt levels.

Yup, that was her, AAR6BB, and AAV6LY, trying to work out some sync problems with PACTOR.  She had a heckuva good signal here, no idea what power she was running but I'd have guessed more than 50 watts - her signal was much stronger than the other AA's in that net - AAR6QE was the only other fellow in that net with a comparable signal.  Usually all of those AA's boom in here since it's regional, but not that particular day.  Might've depended on their transmit antennas and NVIS effect.
