Title: Sycko Radio 6925.6 USB
Post by: Zoidberg on September 22, 2008, 0738 UTC
Sycko Radio, started at 6925.6 kHz USB, slowly drifted toward 6925.5.  0100-0115 UTC, intermittent audio checks including sound clip from movie "The Shining" with Danny yelling "REDRUM!" and Mrs. Torrance saying "What's the matter, honey?  Are you having a bad dream?"  (Just a guess from this listener, but this might explain the similar audio clip and SSTV from "The Shining" last night, logged as UNID between Toynbee Radio and WTCR segments.)  Long segment of various Sycko Radio IDs.

0115-0225 UTC: Sycko talking about switching back to sideband transmitter from his recent Corsair shows in AM mode; spinning vinyl on turntable, occasionally messing with pitch shifting.  Songs from The Knack, Elton John, KC & Sunshine Band, Talking Heads, Patti Smith, Heart.  Lots of Sycko-acoustics with his signature tricky pitch shifting, mix of sound bites and audio clips over beds of music and sound fx: "Hello! Hello! Can you hear me, Earth!. This is Captain John Black. The XR 53 calling from Mars.", etc., from old radio play; Artificial Intelligence sound bites, etc.  Stopped suddenly at 0225z, no final ID.
SINPO - 43233, very good signal peaks and overall intelligibility, heavy static crashes.
(N. Central TX - Palstar R30C w/ 25' outdoor magnet wire antenna.)

10MB audio clip for most of long show: http://www.mediafire.com/?zjenexytj3n
