Title: Par end fed EF-SWL antenna
Post by: Matt285 on August 20, 2019, 1621 UTC
I was just reading reviews for this antenna and all were great. I was thinking this might be a good choice for portable operation. $75.00 isn't outrageous, but I'm just wondering what makes this antenna better than a piece of wire and what is in the box where the SO239 is located. Could this be engineered easily? Thanks

Looks to be a 9:1 transformer in the box on the end, standard binocular core.  Basically one of my 450 ohm cyclops antenna transformers :)
