The Russians lofted a lot of neat sats nack in the day that could be heard on hf, some even had their transponder inputs on hf. I imagine you had to be fast on the dials to keep a sig centered.

Used to work Oscar 7/8 & RS-10/11 (2m up/10m down) & RS-12 (15m up/10m down) back in the 80's & 90's. Had a blast. Doppler wasn't too bad on HF but did require some multitasking to keep up with the 2m signal. Looks like the Chinese plan to launch one this fall that's 15m up/10m down. Look forward to giving that one a try.

Oscar 7 is still kicking around but haven't heard the 10m beacon in a couple of years.

Have to take a closer look at HAMsats.
