Title: Blast From the Past
Post by: ChrisSmolinski on September 24, 2019, 1026 UTC
Forty years ago, a U.S. satellite detected the telltale signs of a nuclear explosion. An analysis of the evidence today points to a clandestine nuclear test, a Carter administration cover-up, and only one country that was willing and able to carry it out: Israel.

Iono, could be Israelis, could be South Africa or France too. Or who knows, lots of countries say they don't want nukes in the press but I bet they'd still love to be able to set people on fire from a distance just like the rest of us.

The South Africans owned up to it a few years after the test.

White papers from various intelligence services have put Israeli nukes in the 50 to 60 warhead range for decades.

The French did their testing in the South Pacific. What was wrong with Corsica?

Al tests his towards Antarctica, but something always happens to them in mid-flight. He and Svetlana Putin are trying to figure it out. The old coot blames it on Penguin/Alien technology, but I don't think Nicaraguan technology has advanced that far.
