Title: Radio Corsair 1710 AM 1648 UTC 18 Dec 2019
Post by: ChrisSmolinski on December 18, 2019, 1810 UTC
I'm been recording the upper end of the X band all day, and periodically checking the recording. I heard some brief snippets of instrumental music (not classical... more like electronic) at 1648 UTC, and then again around 1718 and 1753 UTC. Then again around 1805. So fading in and out. I guess I will listen live, since there appears to be a pirate there.

1824 I hear an OM speaking. This does NOT sound like either the Hudson County nor Flight 93 TIS station recordings, which I know by heart by now. So I assume it is the pirate, but too weak to decipher.

I'm hearing this at 0008 UTC December 19th, actually overriding local Springfield Armory TIS, which is only 3 miles from me!

Great signal this afternoon and into the evening here. Now 20 over S9 with minimal fading. Killing the two TIS stations that normally occupy the frequency. Will be in the vehicle shortly to see if I can hear it mobile.
