I'm so lucky to be married to a person with such a great sense of humor. I recently purchased a refurbished Whistler scanner, it is their basic model but useful for going out side and working in the yard while listening to my local police, still VHF and not encrypted, and if it rains or something falls on it no great loss. Anyway, after I opened the box it came in my wife said "I think that five scanners is enough". And she was able to say it with a straight face. Well we passed that five scanner limit several decades ago so the joke is on her.

To paraphrase former Senator Phil Gramm's statement about shotguns, I have told my wife: "I own more radios than I need, but not as many as I want." Of course, sleeping in the garage next to the lawn tractor has taken a bit of time to get acclimated. 🤪

My wife goes to a lot of estate sales and drags old radios in good shape home for me. She say's the curtain burners "fit our decor". She doesn't like my shotguns, but I keep inheriting them, there's not much she can do about that but outlive me. Besides there's a guy who comes by a few times a year raving about penguins that creeps her out. I tell her "Bird shot only, I think he's my long lost twin."
I'm thinking about getting dogloo for him. He won't do right by that woman he lives with. I hope he doesn't howl?
