I wonder if dsp in the decoder could clean up the product a bit.

I use a DSP device (JPS NIR-12) and it absolutely helps. Keep in mind I'm not using an app for WEFAX but rather an old school Universal M-8000 and I receive on a 30 year old Drake R8. The DSP I use is made by RF Systems I think.....

That sounds like an excellent stand alone system for fax work. Since the R8 has a notch, you can help fax production along by placing the notch on the cf. Wish still had the infotec M600.

Yes the setup works very well for Wefax. And the R8 never lets me down. One thing I can't do though is save the images as JPEG, etc. at least not that I know of.
Oh well, you can't have everything!
