Title: KPR 6930 AM/LSB
Post by: Zoidberg on November 18, 2008, 0424 UTC
New one to me, first I've heard of KPR.
11/15/08, 6930 AM, audible only in AM and LSB, no audio on USB. Started centered around 6929.6, gradually drifted toward 6929.4, best in LSB due to noise and fade.
SINPO - 33122
2315-2339 UTC: Beatles "Come Together", Pink Floyd, Neil Young "Ohio", Beatles "Blackbird", Doors "Alabama Song"
2325z: ID, sounded like "KPR" repeated several times with echo fx, "...this is KPR, the shortwave pirate of the Rocky Mountains ... KPR, free from the (classical mess? other words unintelligible) ... the new world order ... let's rock and roll!"
2333z: Beatles "Come Together" again.
2337z: Johnny Rivers "Secret Agent Man", much stronger now.
2339z: Sudden audio drop during Johnny Rivers song, then ID, sounded like KPR, "Good night" from op, clicking sound, then off.

Good audio, good signal peaks at times, especially during "Ohio" and "Secret Agent Man", lots of fading and heavy local noise, some minor QRM from Pesque voice comms adjacent.

Edited audio clip with IDs (off pitch tuning is me tuning around, switching through AM/LSB/USB, not signal drift or warble): http://www.mediafire.com/?zqm2zt5iyzq
