Title: Mystery Signal
Post by: Matt_B on May 17, 2020, 1548 UTC
Heard something a bit strange on the radio around 2 AM this morning.  WBLS 107.5 usually has a significant signal into my area....but this time, there was no sign of them.  There was only a station playing Caribbean type of stuff, which sounded like a pirate.  Unless BLS has flipped to Jamaican-Caribbean music, it wasn't them.  Any ideas on what this could be?

PS: I've pretty much ruled out a low power station in my area, WNHA-LP.  Their format is Spanish Christian, so it doesn't quite fit....and New Haven to Bridgeport is a little bit far for a low power station, I think.

I moved your post to this forum as it covers VHF/UHF things more, and people are more likely to see it here.

Yesterday there were some significant openings in VHF.  If this was not a local station or pirate it is possible that some distant station was heard.

T!
