Most pirates are in the five eyes countries. What are the rules like in other countries? Like Europe and Asia mostly. I know China would be pretty harsh, but what about the other Asian countries? Is anyone here from a European country and can explain what the scene is like there? (I am not necessarily talking about FM, but rather SW and MW.) In Asia, the countries I'm not sure about are Vietnam, Thailand, Laos. Clearly China would be insane, but these other countries aren't fully communist, so I wonder. I tried using google translate to find sites in other countries, but nothing obvious comes up. Maybe it's just non-existent and unexpected and therefor safer?
Not that I plan on doing it.

Years ago, I remember reading in The A.C.E., (Association of Clandestine Radio Enthusiasts.), that unlicensed broadcasting was pretty laxed in Ireland and Italy. Ya might want to post your question to the folks leftover from that. Many of them being on The FRN, http://frn.net/vines/ You may even see an older post on just this subject. I do remember 20 years ago, (A couple of sunspot cycles ago.), that the best way to hear Euro-pirates was on the upper 21MHz, (13M), band. Border Hunter Radio comes to mind around 21.860MHz. Oh yeah!!!! Check out this Euro-pirate site! http://www.alfalima.net/ (Almost forgot about them.) Some of those posts go back 20 years as well. Happy hunting!!!!

Correct.
Usually a bust only happens on foot of a complaint. Either from a licenced station or of interference. Stations on FM do run a risk and several stations have been raided in recent years, others have received warning letters. Weekend or evening only stations generally are tolerated.
MW and SW stations are of no interest to the authorities and some have been on air for decades 24/7 using more than 1 KW.
Having said all that, we are aware that we operate outside of the law so our transmission standards are normally quite high in order not to attract undue attention.

That is interesting. I wonder if those were just curious people or bots or if they actually heard it. That would be amazing. What's your farthest signal report?

Few months ago - I did got regular mail from a
guy from China!
He even did a "voice-over" for me in chinese language!

I wonder, are there any countries that have no regulations - like no FCC at all? It would be so fun to be able to pirate 24/7 and maybe even have commercials to make money.

There are many pirates on FM in the US that do operate 24/7 and sell commercials to local businesses at a much lower rate than Licensed stations. The ones that run a tight ship have operated for years Until there were enough complaints from Licenced Broadcasters to send in the Marshalls to take their equipment and take them off the air. Others get the Knock much sooner if they run Splatter Boxes.
