Title: Programmable SDR hardware?
Post by: Ray Lalleu on July 17, 2020, 1506 UTC
Can the SDR hardware part (of commercially available SDR units)
be programmed under control of the PC ?
Ideas :
- synchronisation of the ADC rate on a carrier
- optimisation of the FPGA processing to get the best S/N on a particular band

Most SDRs allow you to flash the firmware, often including the FPGA.  With something like the KiwiSDR which is open source, you could probably make your own changes if you wanted to.
