Being that time of the year, one would assume a BX is imminent.

I don't think they were on last year. And I think they usually air on the weekend closest to the date. Unfortunately I think they may not be happening anymore, like Cinco de Mayo Radio. I hope I'm wrong.

Actually in 2019 EFR was on 11/10 at 1808z and 2125z on 6925 and 6875 respectively.
11/10 in 2018 on 6925 at 2050z. Last time they were on on 11/9 was 2014.

I did a research paper on the wreck of the mighty Fitz back in the early 80's - fascinating story with a very mysterious ending.
Ring the bell 29 times November 10th.
Rest in Peace, Gentlemen.

Good to know. I had looked for a log here on HFU but couldn't find it.

I get the willies every time I hear the radio transmission between the Captain of the Andersen and the USCG when he says "the last time we heard from the Fitzgerald they said they we're 'holding their own'".

If anyone is on Facebook, there's also this that's happening later today.

Back in 2015 I received a reply from Edmund Fitzgerald Radio that included an eQSL, the lyrics to one of the songs played "Shoals of Caribou" by Russell R. Scott, AND a studio copy of the show. If the op is still around somewhere, I hope you don't mind me posting a link to that studio copy. :) The audio is crystal clear and every bit as chilling as when I heard it via shortwave.

Very nice. I got an eQSL from the 2017 broadcast, which I had to catch on the K3FEF web SDR in PA (though I was excited to hear it under the noise here) but that was all. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone for the posts - no copy here this year but they've been on as late as 11/12 in years past so stay tuned.
