Last week at this time we were enjoying dining outdoors in the middle of an unusual warm period for November for Michigan
with daytime temperatures reaching into the mid-70s. Tonight things are back to normal for this time of year.
We are dining indoors, temperature outside in the upper 30s with a cold west wind.

We have some transition days here on the east coast. Some 60's today with showers. Probably 50's tomorrow and 40's by Wed. I think La Nina winters bring these cold shots with moderation and mostly dry weather for us (not much southern stream moisture). For you La Nina should bring the same variation but a better chance of storms.
-
Jet stream shifting southward bringing high winds today.
-
It's here now. Winds still gusting to 25-30 and actually keeping it a little warmer (mixing), 38 now. I picked some green cherry tomatoes, they are not going to be very good even if they ripen.
-
28 for the low yesterday, 30 for the low today though the NWS had forecasted lower, I suspect because the winds never died down. Still quite breezy now, between the wind and the cold I have postponed outdoor work. Just 32.9F shortly before 10 AM. I remembered to turn off the water to the outdoor spigots last night. Low 60s forecast Fri and Sat which will be nice.

The forecasted low here in northern Carroll County was 28F per the NWS Sterling office. Actual low? 19F.

Got down to 23 here and the last ice in the barrels in the shade just melted. It's 63 now and I opened some windows. Winter is over, spring is here.
-
Still just 45 here, fairly cloudy. We get a few days of Spring starting tomorrow.
-
One more shot of unusual warm November weather for us in Michigan...
reached mid-60s yesterday, is presently 62.
-
It was very nice yesterday, got to 65. Looks to be a little cooler today and cloudy, still not bad for November.
-
25F for the low this morning, vs the NWS Sterling forecast low of 33F.
The Canadian tries to bring a little snow nearby early in the week:

I'll welcome the cold snap, if it will clear out the T-storms that keep trashing the LF, MW, and lower HF, bands.
-
And... it's snowing here in northern Carroll County.
-
Snowing all across Western New York this morning, maybe an inch or so of accumulation. Temperature is 33 degrees F. at the moment.
-
Got our first serious snow of the season yesterday here in southern Michigan.
The salt trucks were out doing their best to rust out the fenders and rocker panels on my car.
However, we got nowhere near the 5-8" snow total some early forecasts had predicted.
-
It snowed yesterday in Tasmania, even though it is summer in Australia :)
-
22.5 this morning, I think the NWS forecast low was 27. Decent layer of ice on the ponds.
-
24 here in the Shenandoah Valley this morning. Second coldest of the year so far (23 about two weeks ago). I finally bit the bullet and cleaned the wood stove last Saturday and have been running it since. There's nothing like the cheap comfort of radiant heat from a wood stove.
-
I have two south facing windows here in the home office / radio shack. I have to keep the blinds closed much of the time in the summer, but it's nice in the winter. 80F here, 46F outside.

Low sun angle and no leaves on the trees to block the sun make for natural heating
through south facing windows on sunny winter days.
On a sunny day with temp above 30F here the furnace never kicks on all day.
-
Very unseasonable weather here in Southern Wisconsin. Last year we had 14 inches of snow on the ground by now. This year you can't find a flake with a magnifying glass. 10 day forecast is for high temps in the mid to upper 40's. If it hits 50 I'm breaking out the humidor and celebrating with a Partagas Magnifico bonus smoke!
-
My forecast for the next few days. And it usually runs a few degrees colder here than the NWS forecast. Well, at least it isn't snow.

19F (so far) for the low this morning, the NWS forecast low was 26F.
-
22 in the valley, coolest so far for the season. Getting any of that snow up there Chris?

Yes, it started around 10:20... and then ended a few minutes later. Only a coating.

It’s a sign winter has arrived in western New York. The ice boom will be installed today 12/10/2020 on the Niagara River, weather permitting. It’s put into place every year to reduce the amount of ice entering the Niagara River. The ice boom is installed when the temperature of Lake Erie reaches 39 degrees, or on December 16, whichever comes first. Expecting upper 40 degree temps this weekend with some rain.

Memories of many many years ago, I used to live in Getzville back in the late 70s.

A couple of mild days for us here in Michigan. The ice fog burned off with sunrise and the temp rose quickly with bright sunshine and topped out near 50F both days.
Nicer WX than some of the stuff we had back in early Autumn... we have had several of these unusually mild days over the past several weeks.
edit: mild again today but pouring rain, looks like no bicycle ride today
