Been hearing this one for a while, as I'm scanning for the MX beacons. About 2 sec on 1 sec off. Copying on my Kiwi, 0220Z. Listened on your Kiwis Chris, but no joy.

Very curious, as I actually noticed a dead carrier on 5150 yesterday afternoon. In fact it is there now (1104 UTC 13 Jan 2021, however very weak. But a constant carrier, not on and off, and much closer to 5150.0 kHz. So something different than what you are receiving, it would seem.

Still hear it this morning. I bet it's local noise.

Not making it here at 1620 UTC. I'll keep an eye out for it, in case propagation changes.
I notice your KiwiSDR does not seem to have the mystery carrier I have here on 5150.0 kHz.

Ah, RF Hoodoos! Now that is an excellent designator for sure for some of the apparitional, mystical, shadowy signals we find lurking out across the spectrum which for a period of time can defy identification. In the 1969 Creedence Clearwater Revival classic "Born on the Bayou" John C. Fogetry muses "chasing down a hoodoo there." The hoodoo lives on in the electromagnetic spectrum. Good hunting all!
No joy on 5150.4 here this evening but I shall keep an eye out.
