Title: Throwback90s 1720 AM 0212 UTC 9 May 2021
Post by: JustGreg on May 09, 2021, 0215 UTC
I have a weak signal on 1720 playing dance music with female singer.  Found it at 0150 and hope it would Id at 0200, no luck.  I check to see if it was a harmonic of a AM broadcast and appears not to be either second or third.  Same female singer on all songs.  Songs are English language.  Off at 0222  Thanks Throwback90s for the ID.  Your signal was getting better at sign off.

Any chance that you could try 1710kHz? It would certainly be a change from those 1/2-ass TIS stations. Hey... 1560kHz is kind of free(er) now, albeit that would be quite a retune of the TX and antenna. But, good to hear about AM'er on medium wave still out there, especially this time of year.

ThaDood, I've been on 1710 but that N.J. TIS transmitter was given permission to run 100 watts carrier when covid first hit so 1710 has a good signal still. Most of us have been sticking to 1720,1730,1735 and 1740. Once the NJ TIS goes back to 10 watts we will be back on 1710 sooner or later. 1560 is free like u said and easy to tune to but I like to transnmit to hard-core dx listener. Next time I flip the switch I'll give you a shout out!!!!!! Have a great day!!!

Heard from 0149-0222 UTC on the SDR recording.

Great to hear you again, Throwback90s !

And yes, I'd avoid 1710 kHz, due to the NJ (and other) TIS stations. 1720 and up and clear.
