Title: UNID 13925-13975 UTE? Digital? 2354 UTC 16 July 2021
Post by: RobRich on July 17, 2021, 0001 UTC
I do not really keep track of utility stations and similar, so someone else will have to ID if possible, but I thought the waterfall was interesting.

Rob, is the UTE constant or occasional? Nothing heard from my location.

00:41 UTC: All right, all I get at my location is a +/- 40 kHz wide wood pecker as seen in the image below. I will have to check the WebSDRs.

01:10 UTC update: The trace is much more definced on the N4BUT WebSDR. 2 distinctive traces but I would say 13925 kHz and I am also seeing it at 14877 kHz.

I spotted the higher frequency as well on that SDR, but the websdr there is via a RTL-SDR so YMMV on images, spurs, etc.

Received here via a Airspy HF+ Discovery. Initially I spotted the "center" at about 13950 with it being approximately +/- 25KHz wide, so yeah about 13925 if USB. Thread title updated.

Went off air at 0115z.

Confirmed with it going off the air at 01:15 UTC. I was trying to get a accurate centre frequency. 13950 kHz may be correct. the UTE went off air while I was trying to zoom in. Will have to keep an eye out on this one. Thanks for those 2 WebSDRs. They are nice. Just have to play with them a little more to figure out the interface.

03:39 UTC 17 JULY 2021 - A similar buzzer type UNID UTE appears to be on 12960.0 kHz but is only +/- 20 kHz wide.
03:46 UTC - UNID UTE went off the air.

I did not see the others (was not at the radio at that time), but this one, 12960 kHz, on air about 0320z and off air about 0345z, 17 July, 2021, is the British PLUTO radar.  It was also on 13240 kHz at the same time, with start / stop times on that freq of 0310z on and 0400z off.

T!

Thank you for the British PLUTO radar update.

02:28 UTC 19 JULY 2021 - I guess this would be the same for 11210.0 kHz.
02:56 UTC - Transmission ends.
