Title: St. Maarten on 27550 USB working DX 2100+ UTC 24 Sept 2021
Post by: R4002 on September 24, 2021, 2112 UTC
348LR067 and 348LR002 working numerous stations on 27550 USB 27.550 MHz - including 9 division (Mexico), 2 division (USA), heard Portugal and several other stations on frequency.

27.555 USB was very busy earlier, but the band appears to be closing

Wow, I haven't thought about division numbers in years. I use to know most of them by heart. Awesome to hear that there is some true DX on 11 meters.

Hearing a strong station from Venezuela on 27.555. Can't remember the last time I have heard anyone on that frequency.

I was able to work the  Venezuela station. He called out on 27.555 to QSY to 27.515. He mentioned propagation to Europe. Hope things keep going like this. Gonna check 28.400 now.

Yep the band was nice and open the other day.  27.555 USB was busy, as were most frequencies from roughly 27.500 MHz to 27.700 MHz in 5 kHz steps.  27.510 MHz LSB was very busy with Caribbean-accented English transmissions and I heard some activity on "The Jamaican Connection" Knight Patrol DX Club primary frequency - 27.515 MHz LSB.  27.510 LSB is a secondary frequency for them.

Also noted some French language chatter on 27.710 MHz USB I believe.  Another interesting one was the fact that I heard some Spanish speaking stations using 27.200 MHz USB without any issues (or QRM from the US station activity on 27.205 AM).  Same with the Mexican taxi cab dispatch lady on 27.515 MHz AM (27.515 LSB and 27.520 USB both were very busy, even with the 27515 frequency being used for AM traffic on top of them).
