UNID 6988.0 kHz USB 22:23 UTC 09 DECEMBER 2021
Note: Unconfirmed. It has been suggested that this is part of the high-frequency trading (HFT) HF network experiment.
22:23 UTC - UNID UTE with 4 kHz wide unknown data format. Has a repeating tic tic tic toc sound pattern;
22:34 UTC - Becoming weak and unreadable;
22:50 UTC - Weak and unreadable;
23:11 UTC - Signal returning, weak barely readable;
23:37 UTC - Signal changed frequency to 6970.0 kHz USB;
23:48 UTC - Lost signal on 6970.0 kHz.
23:51 UTC - Reappeared on 6983.0 kHz USB. This appears to be paired with an accompanying adjacent frequency 23 kHz lower;
23:55 UTC Signal lost on 6983.0 kHz.

Holy crap that'd be a great intro to a techno track!

UNID 6983.0 kHz USB 21:48 UTC 10 DECEMBER 2021
21:48 UTC 10 Dec 2021 - Signal is once again very predominant on 6983.0 kHz today at an S9 level;
21:50 UTC - Off air for approx 15 seconds and returned;
21:51 UTC - Off air for approx 15 seconds and returned;
21:53 UTC - Off air for approx 15 seconds and returned; on / off pattern continues to repeat;
22:00 UTC - Transmission is now continuous;
22:33 UTC - Off air.

UNID 6983.0 kHz 22:47 UTC 17 DECEMBER 2021
22:47 UTC - Presumed high-frequency trading (HFT) HF network experiment. I am only seeing one side of the network traffic today and is almost 10 kHz wide. This may also be 2 x 4 kHz wide channels; 6983.0 and 6988.0.

~SIGENT~, take a look and listen at this .. do you think it's the same thing? This was Dec 27 approx 2230. You may have to put on headphones to hear the audio well. I move the phone closer to the speaker at approx 35sec to get better audio.

Yes, that is the signal. From the monitoring that I have done so far, it appears to be half of the puzzle. So far, it has always been associated with that larger wide band signal 23 kHz lower.

So far I have seen individual waveforms of approximately 2, 3, 4, and 10 kHz widths. Each can be found at various speeds, from slow to fast. The same data structure, down to the same MFSK step cycles, but scaled differently, can be seen on both the 4 and 10 KHz widths. Different speeds can have the same MFSK step cycles, just slowed down or sped up. I have seen every size alone, and every size with one, or more, companion signal(s). I have seen up to three examples in close proximate, say within 50'ish kHz of each other. I have also seen multiple sets of signals up, sometimes several MHz apart. So far I have not observed more than three wide spaced sets up at any one time, for example a set at 10244 kHz, a set at 11448 kHz, and a set at 14892 kHz, all at the same time.
I do not have the skill or software tools to determine if each MFSK bit also has some other modulation on it, like possibly PSK data on each MFSK step. But the MFSK steps cannot be the entire data content for the signal, as those go for extended periods without change.

Been wondering about this one myself. Using SDRuno now, the visual aspect of the waterfall adds to the lure with weirdo signals.

Here's another short recording, with somewhat better audio. I grabbed this Jan 2, approx 2240.

Make sure to check out my latest addition to these experiments in this topic:
UNID 6985 (CF) 1310 UTC 09 JAN 2022

Apparently that waveform I monitored on 6985 kHz is 4 x MFSK4.
