Moderate signal in upstate NY, northeastern U.S. I'm usually pretty good at identifying a language or language group, but this one stumps me. Suspect Ethiopia Radio (in Amharic), but ShortwaveSchedule.com et al state that this station is only on 1500-1800. Heard what sounded like news for a while, eventually transitioned to music. There is occasional interference from hams. If that's the same as EBC, and I suspect it is, Eibi has it listed also for 0330-1500 UTC.

Hi "Alleycat,"
You definitely did hear Radio Ethiopia (Home Service), no question about it. Well done!
Here on the west coast, I occasionally hear Ethiopia about 0445 to past 0500 UT, as I recently did on Jan 8, with announcers
and Horn-of-Africa (HOA) music/singing; 0500 ID and news.
Almost daily I hear them closing down at 1500* UT, as I did on Oct 10, 2021. My audio, ending with IDs, IS and gongs, at http://bit.ly/3iMyCES .
