Radio Trans Mundial/TWR Bonaire 800 kHz 02:00 UTC Jan 31 2002

Actually tuned in at 01:30 UTC and listened until just after 02:00. Received on a small, indoor, passive, non-resonant, single wire loop antenna. Good signal tonight and have posted a YouTube clip "Radio Trans Mundial ID" with ID at about thirty seconds in:

My QTH is about 1500 miles from Bonaire and I believe that they are using 400+ KW - signal beamed North (towards Cuba) each day until 03:00 UTC.

If you'd like to experiment with one of these loop antennas - they are easy to make and I will include a link to a ham website that has some detailed info at the end of this post.

The loop is very directional and often can null out interfering stations. One word of warning though - these small loops have very low signal outputs. A good, sensitive receiver is suggested for DXing. Eventually I plan to test a few antenna mounted pre-amps as well.
