I remember some of those hacks on a program from the pirate station "The Voice of Vrillon". The op stated in his QSL email there were some FM radio hacks in the program as well.

Anyone remember the movie ,"Used Cars"? It depicts an uplink highjack of a State of The Union Address by a wild-ass used car salesman, his colleagues, and a couple of tech wizards they roped into a plot to save the lot from the dead owner's slimy twin brother.
One of the tech guy's built his own pacemaker from parts he bought at Radio Shack. I don't know why it didn't win an Oscar?

One of my favorites growing up. If it's any consolation, director Robert Zemeckis would go on to win Oscars for a later project of his called "Forrest Gump." Though IMHO "Used Cars" is the better of the two.

Tom Hank's went from playing Sally Field's love interest in a movie about stand-up comedy to playing her son in "Forrest Gump" in roughly five years. And people complained about the porn take-off "Forrest Hump" being twisted.

The more that I think about it, the more certain I am about seeing the Max Headroom guy on WGN. I thought it was one of those
"Call your cable company and say 'I want my MTV!" bits. I didn't pay that much attention to it.

I live near the shooting gallery aka Chicago and I can still remember watching the sports cast on WGN Channel 9 (Dan Roan) when the first Max Headroom attack happened - the audio was goofed up but the video was clear enough. The hackers got it all straightened out when they turned their sights on Dr. Who on WTTW Channel 11 later that night.
Still one of my fondest memories. Pirates just ain’t what they used to be.
