Title: 3220 kHz
Post by: Andrew Yoder on January 15, 2013, 0451 UTC
Working on the Pirate Radio Annual tonight & I came across some loggings of stations on 3220 kHz (presumably all harmonics of 1610 pirates or Part-15 stations, such as logs by Joe Farley, N8Hensley, and Kilocat7. Just wondered if anyone was still hearing these or actively tuning 3200-3420 kHz looking for these harmonics?

Interesting stuff.

Have a great night!

I've been hearing something on that frequency on and off for months. I assumed it was a South American domestic as I get bits of voice in Spanish there.

I hear the occasional Aussie there.

Peace!

Ah yes, the 90m band morning mystery station that played continuous rock music with no announcements.  I haven't heard it for a long time now, and I do actively check this band during sunrise enhancement on the weekends.  I have no idea who/what it was, I suppose it could have been a harmonic of 1610 - not likely from a Part 15 station though.  I don't remember anyone else reporting it here but it might be interesting to compare notes.  Around the time of my reception last year, I did find reports from Dave Valko in PA. describing the same thing around 3219.5 during the morning hours.  FWIW, here's my reception from June 2012: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EyPX6Q8GdQ
