Software / Re: Identify Garmin RINO data mode
« on: November 24, 2022, 1839 UTC »
Thank you for this info. I believe by law they must us PSk, AFSK, or FSK. Though that is in America, and they may have used another mode in other parts of the world for the same reason. I am going to give Xaster a try.

Software / Identify Garmin RINO data mode

What software would you use to identify the mode Garmin RINO radios are using to transmit position data? I prefer Linux, but other people interested in this use Windows and Ios products.

Amateur Radio / Re: Equipment Recommendations?

As a first radio I found the Icom 7100 to have been a good choice for me. Sadly their price went up a lot recent months. The ability to plug a cat cable in direct to a computer, the SWR meter, and the dual HF and VHF/UHF antenna ports make it a full featured rig. I bought mine about 5 years ago, and as my interests have grown in radio it has been fully capable of allowing me to experiment with them. WS7PB

New to this forum, first post. QRZ is well known for being unfriendly. I find the Youtube Hams, like the guys at Coffee and Ham Radio have good forums, most on The Discord, where everyone is respected.

There is a lot of interesting content here.
