It is hitting me at 20+ at times, generally a strong S9 or better. That is off my vertical. My dipole (10m), it drops off to S7. Oh, update, I just heard mention of an ID being Radio Cuba

I'm not sure this belongs here or under the SW Broadcast forum, so feel free to move it, please. But, this one is odd. It is on the 10m band, in Spanish, and playing what sounds like old-time Spanish language music. It almost reminds me of music from the 30s/40s. I cannot find any mention of it in a search on this site or the general NET

Thanks, Kilo. I'd like to try and do a little more listening this winter in my favorite portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, the medium wave band  ;D Oh, myteaquinn, thanks for the station ID

Thanks, Skipmuck. I don't get out from under my log often  ;D  Still a big signal here also, light fading, but it does fade into the S6 noise level at times

Skipmuck, interesting to say the least, a very good signal on the east-coast and midwest, with great audio...

Station playing techno type music on 1.717 AM right now. At first, I thought it was an image, it's not. 10 over 9 here in S/E Michigan. Clean deep rich audio, sounds very nice

04:18 UTC. In all the years of hearing this station, I've never heard it this strong. Almost 20+ at times, just booming in here north of Detroit

Same here, S9+ well over at times

01:46 fair signal - Gary Wright - Love is Alive

Yes, the band is starting to stretch its legs, you're averaging around an S7-S8, really good audio though. I'm seeing about 5/khz width on your signal

Strong signal, averaging S9

Equipment / Re: RETRO RECEIVER REVIEW #11 - The NATIONAL RF-5000

Nice write-up. I own two (RF5000A versions), one for parts, and one that is near mint I purchased off the original owner 25+ years ago. After a good contact cleaning and alignment, the radio has done me no wrong. I still drag it with me on my trips into northern MI or outside of MI. I love the sound and sensitivity especially in RF quiet areas, it is quite good on the MW bands. But as the article states, it gets overloaded easily, especially near high power FM stations, images abound in the upper portions of the SW bands within 5 miles of medium to high power FM transmitters. BCB transmitters do not seem to create an issue, though I've never been closer than 4 miles to one with this set.
