1630+  Playing oldies.
1638  Live ID as Radio Olah.  Spelled it out.  Live TC 1 minute late.  Said hasn't been on in a long time.
1649  Another live ID anmnt.  Said was broadcasting "...from some valley, some place...".
1713  Still going with music.  Mentioned temps outside -60 and -70 degrees in anmnts.  Signal quality about the same since beginning.
1715  Short anmnt which I couldn't copy due to an unfortunate fade, then off the air.

Only fair signal but readable most of the time.  Some deep fades.

0406  Guitar jazz mx.  No anmnts yet.

Fair signal and in the clear.  Some slight QSB.

0408  Abruptly off.  Off course as soon as I hit "post" the signal disappears.  Must have been someone testing.

0411  Maybe same station back on w/"Fruitcake" comedy dialog and mx.  Now in AM.
0412  "Happy Festivus everyone!".
0418  Jimmy Buffet
0421  "That fruitcake you got for Christmas, what did you do with it?"
0422  Song "Nobody Likes a Fruitcake".
0425  Bluegrass song "I Wish There Was a Special Day for Fruitcake" (I think).
0429  Sounded like the modulation was lowered.
0430  Sudden sign off.  No ID.

Strong signal.  A bit overmodulated.

Gracias Skipmuck!!  I suspected it was something like that.  Appreciate the information for inclusion in the logbook.

Did anyone get a positive Outhouse Radio ID??  Did the Outhouse Radio op confirm this was his broadcast??  The ID I heard at 0028 certainly sounds like Chainsaw R.  Could it be a one-off name change for Halloween??  A relay perhaps??

5
0028  ID for "Chainsaw Radio" by M.  Good signal.  A lot of SFX.

6
2340  Among the 6 other stations (not including someone one 6920 airing SSTV), I heard someone here with unknown Pop/Dance mx.  Weak but probably readable.  Clear.

DV in SW PA

7
2244 UTC  M singing (more like talking) "Monster Mash"  Fairly good in LSB and about 99% readable.  Just a slight bit of slop from WREC same freq but USB.  In SW PA.

WHAT'S YOUR STATION NAME??

DV

8
2158  Someone just popped up here with music.  Guitar solo.  Audio not that strong.

9
2151  Getting what sounds like maybe The Grateful Dead.  But I'm not familiar with their stuff.
2156  Live version of "Good Lovin".

Fair signal here in SW PA.

10
2047  Getting instru. mx.  Sounds kind of like Pink Floyd but probably not.
2050  Possible M anncr briefly.
2053  Back up again and same type instru. mx hrd 6 min. earlier.
2055  Much better w/new song of techno. mx.

Weak and pretty heavy QSB, but definitely someone on the freq.

11
0156  WMPQ ID by W.
0157  "Sweet Dreams" by Eurythmics remake w/sev. simple WMPQ IDs.
0159  More IDs and ment of QSL once.
0203  SSTV  (Skipmuck, your image is about as good as mine.)

Strong signal here but choppy (not due to propagation) in SW PA.

12
2205  "Gimme All Your Lovin" by ZZ Top
2208  Sounds like a stand-up comedy show.  Audio kind of scratchy making it difficult to copy.
2214  "Cherry Pie" by Warrant??  Starting to get some heavy QSB.
2216  ID by M w/altered voice sounding like he said it was the very first broadcast from Big Johnson Radio.
2217  More stand-up comedy.  Sounded like Andrew Dice Clay, but perhaps not.
2219  Continued with more comedy from Doug and Bob McKenzie, "The 12 Days of Christmas"
2224  "I'm Popeye the Sailor Man"
2225  ID and QSL request to  P.O. 28413, ?? RI ??

Good signal and fairly steady.

North American Shortwave Pirate / UNID 9420 USB 1435 UTC 12 Feb. 2023
« on: February 12, 2023, 1439 UTC »
1435  Someone here in USB airing long info messages about men getting hit in the testicles, and now pubic hair.
1445  Gregorian chant-like mx.
1455  Went off the air for a short time but back on with another message about circumcision.
1500  Over the top of the hour still talking about circumcision, no ID.
1513  Went off, and about 20 seconds later there was a burst in digital mode showing up in the Perseus display as a pentagon in a circle.

Power is being varied and going off and on.  Very strong and also very weak.  Sounds like someone testing.  Heard on a number of KiwiSDRs all over North America but not outside.  Any idea who??

For the third time (26 and 10 Jan.), I've been hearing someone on 9310 in USB playing the Soviet national anthem by Gimn Rossi over and over for hours.  The first time on the 10th, it was noted from 0709-1458 UTC.  On the 26th, it was noted from 0540-0600.   Tonight its on again.  Doesn't sound like a pesky.  I've checked numerous web receivers around the world and it's been heard just about everywhere, always massive signal in Finland.  Any idea what this might be??
