Spy Numbers / Numbers Station News Story

Hi HF Underground Community,
I'm a freelance journalist and a student at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in New York. I'm currently working on a long-form article about numbers stations: why they're still utilized by governments because of their remarkably simple yet effective communication capabilities and why shortwave radio enthusiasts are eager to track a mystery that may never be solved.
I would love to learn a bit more about anyone's experiences with numbers stations or some of the sources that you have consulted in your research. I'm familiar with the various sites and forums that are used to track numbers stations, so I suppose I am more interested in personal experiences/some of your most interesting discoveries. Maybe a member of this community would be interested in having a phone conversation or Skype call at some point to discuss your work with numbers stations, or just the shortwave radio community more generally.
