HF Beacons / "L" at 4095.11
« on: February 15, 2022, 0330 UTC »
Is anybody copying "L" at 4095.11kHz? It's 459 at 0309Z. sending "L" at approximately at a 5 sec. rate

Some time ago I heard an " L" Beacon regularly at 4096.150, but this is the first time this evening for the 4095.11kHz signal for me.

"L" is 589 on the Utah Omni at 0326Z.

HF Beacons / Increased Beacon Activity Around 4.095 MHz??
« on: January 03, 2022, 2355 UTC »
Either I’m seeing a lot of activity around or I’m nuts?

I’m seeing four distinct signals around 4.095-4.0965MHz;
1)   4095.71 the Whooper,
2)    The chirpy slow dashes at 4095.88. Both #2 and #3 have been around for some time.
3)    New to me is another slow dash at 4095.95.
4)   Finally, yet another slow dash at 4096.30. I’m seeing all four of these signals from both my location and from Token’s SDR: http://tokenradio.proxy.kiwisdr.com:8073/  at 2243Z, so #3 and #4 aren’t just some form of local noise.

At this location I hear the Whooper of course, signal #1 24 hrs/day and night from S2 to S9 in the evenings. Signal #2 usually heard after local sunset, but today it seemed to rise out of the noise at 2200Z and signals  #3 and # 4 became apparent today at 2120Z with #4 rising to S7 by 2320.

Is #4, the slow dash at 4096.30, new?

22 Meter Band HiFER Beacons / 22m WSPR Activity
« on: May 09, 2021, 1725 UTC »
9 May

UTC  dB   dT      Freq       dF       all    Grid         km   dBm
1618 -20  0.7 13.555447  0  VA3ROM EN58    2880  7 (5.0 mW)
1628 -17  0.7 13.555447  0  VA3ROM EN58    2880  7 (5.0 mW)
1640 -24 -0.5 13.555497  0  K3SIW  EN52     2703  7 (5.0 mW)

WSPR Activity seems to be on the increasing on or about the frequencies noted. Others have been seen throughout the last several months, the above is a sample of regulars.

HF Beacons / Beacon At 4069.41 kHz?
« on: April 22, 2021, 0344 UTC »
Anyone hearing the CW beacon at 4069.41? Been tracking this beacon  for several days time before confirming it may be a beacon and not some artifact of another modulation type.

At 0314Z, 579 at this location, with deep QSB. Keyed at ~1.25 second dash, 1 second space.

Any idea of location?

HF Beacons / 4107.83 and 4109.02kHz Beacons?
« on: March 23, 2021, 0427 UTC »
Anyone familiar with the following two beacons:

1) 4107.83 CW a ditter but with an off cadence keying at ~1 sec intervals? Heard at 0350Z 579 at DM12. Signal’s azimuth orientation generally NNE. No ID.

2) 4109.02 CW at 0353Z, similar to 4107.83 with the cadence thing, but difficult to tell with QRN. Dits also  ~ 1 sec interval. 549-569,  QSB  at this location. Azimuth orientation difficult to pinpoint with QRN. No ID.

Primary intercept with 1m loop, dipole not as good copy on dipole, with much more atmospheric noise (QRN).

Hearing Beacon "AZ" identifying at 1933Z, 13554.08 khz from far southern California. Beacon "AZ" ID's at 3 second intervals peak signal 579 with QSB.
