UNID station on 6660 kHz with Deep Purple non-stop. At least two hours in the frequency with Rock of the 70's and 80's. Being on LSB could be an illegal transmission by a ham operator or anybody... At 23:05UTC some ads in French, so could be a radio relayed by someone. S5 here in Northern Spain.
Saludos

Utility / Unidentified Time Pips 1768,6 USB
« on: April 07, 2020, 0345 UTC »
Hi,
This morning at 03:35 UTC I could record very faint time pips? (miliseconds pip each one second) on 1.768,600 kHz. No ID, no announces. Maybe it's a beacon transmitting these pips? Any clue?  :o
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Yesterday 15th September at 07:36 I could hear from my current QTH (Northern Spain) what I suppose is a coastal station or coastal warning service (a woman voice) in French and later on in English giving meteo details of the Mediterranean area (Corse, Cerdeña, Elba Island, St. Madalena, etc...) The station signed off at 07:47z.

I cannot find any information on it. Any clue? Maybe militar?

Thank you in advance.

Hi:
This morning I could hear a non-stop music station in 6280 kHz. Some songs by Jeff Buckley, Status Quo and others... In between the songs it seemed to be just silence but it wasn't! The ID of the radiostation was buried there. Sometimes a man identified it and others talked a little bit more, but audio processing was so faint that can be easily lost in the noise.

Just past 0700UTC I managed to get a decent recording, then saved it. This evening at home I have processed the audio discovering the station's name. The guy says: 'This is Bluemoon Radio'. I would like to share the audio here but I can't attach it. Due that we hear it would be good to have a way to attach audio files, or maybe I am missing somethig?

¡Buen DX!

Other / Freebanders battle on 3.460 LSB from 24 August 2019
« on: August 29, 2019, 1915 UTC »
Hi,
I don't know if any of you have heard a strange music stream on 3.460 LSB every evening at least from 24th August 2019. I noticed it at various times with repetitive songs in French and Italian. Signal is medium with SIO333 Unpredictably the sound stops sometimes, the carrier dissapears and come back on air a few seconds later. No ID noted any of the days I heard it!

This is under the ham band allocation. Maybe a bored ham?

¡Buen DX!

I'm going to rename it, and then soon move it to 'Other'

Shortwave Broadcast / UNID station on 6316kHz
« on: August 15, 2019, 0922 UTC »
Hi:

On 13th and 14th August I noticed a signal on 6.316 kHz from an unknown station. I noticed it in recordings made to check noise floors in two different Grid locators. In both, the signal was good enough to hear details (S2-S3).

The language was French and went off both days in between 06:30 and 06:32 UTC. French but with a strong African accent. On 13th they played reguetón music; on 14th they aired an event at live, performed by DJ Arafat (Côte d'Ivoire) a week ago. This guy was dead in a car accident just a couple of days before (so it was a kind of homage). Côte d'Ivoire left SW bands some years back.

I tried to record it sooner this morning but I heard nothing from 05:50 to 06:35 UTC. Conditions were good enough, simply the station did not broadcast today.

Any idea about this?

Thank you very much!

MW Loggings / UNKNOWN 1660 AM 29 July 2019 (Solved)
« on: July 29, 2019, 1800 UTC »
Hi to all,
MW listening conditions these days are been very good indeed. I get better signals on some frequencies that in mid-winter, including the MW X Band, full of TA signals.

This morning I was listening to 1660 Faro de Santidad (Puerto Rico) when close to dawn a station overrode it. I listened to it carefully but I could not understand the spoken language. The station remains unknown for me so maybe you could help me with your opinion.

I do not know that language and could be Icelandic or even Korean. I say Korean because of that kind of 'laughing' expressions to enhance the sentences that can be heard in the recording, but I am not sure of it.

After the sunrise (past 05:00 UTC) the signal was fading until it disappeared at about 05:30 UTC.

I attach a .mp3 format audio link for you to check:

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi,
My name is Jorge and I write from Northern Spain where my current QTH is located. Last night I had a signal on 1730 Khz booming in the receiver. It identified as 'Radio Montecarlo' and the genre of music aired is 'Ibiza Sound' and Chill-Soft House.

Any idea of the origin of this radio signal? I have searched on internet but I did not find anything, but the 'official' RMC FM station from Mónaco & Italy.

Thanks in advance,

¡Buen DX!
