WOR 710 AM in New York City has announced they will rebroadcast Game 6 of the 1986 World Series (Mets/Red Sox) on May 26, 2016 at 2300z.  Unfortunately, WOR's reception is barely outside the five boroughs on most occasions.  The odd part here is that the game was originally broadcast on WHN 1050am, which became WFAN on the same frequency.  WFAN eventually moved to 660am.  Don't know how WOR has the rights to broadcast it, unless it is strictly NY Mets property.
WOR carries the Mets these days so may have the rights to rebroadcast that way.  I receive WOR fine in central Jersey.  Should be an interesting listen.   :)

IHeartMedia Inc., the radio broadcaster struggling under $20.6 billion of debt, is considering a potential bond or equity offering to pay off its most-pressing obligations and buy time to improve earnings, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter.

If they get rid of Howard Stern, 19 Billion of the debt would be erased.

As reported by Phil KO6BB in the ndblist Yahoo Group, the Ramsey Electronics kit department is out of business.

Per the article, "All of us in the Hobby Kit Group urge you to continue your pursuit.  Some of the nation’s top electronic engineers, scientists, and entrepreneurs started by learning and building hobby kits… pass it on to your kids!"

...Just don't count on us!  There's Velleman and others out there so it's not as though there is no place to go.  Hey, they are a business.  If there's no money in it, then they should discontinue that line of business.

The RF Workbench / Re: Beacon Project #2 (on a Tower) - Introduction

Funny how this hobby, in your case and maybe others', has crossed roads a bit with Urban Exploration - something I have dabbled in from time to time.  Fun stuff.  Do no harm, take pictures, leave only footprints.  :)

Meantime, I tried to pick up the 30m beacon last night on my R-5000 with no luck but I live in a radio-noisy area between New York and Philadelphia.  I also have some noise reduction work to do around the house.

I look forward to hearing your 30m signal at some point and wish you luck on your 10m adventure.

Nice old set indeed.  Early 1970's?  I like the idea of dialing in your frequency piece by piece.  Is there anything going on VLF and LF these days besides beacons?

The other thing to look out for would be harmonic transmissions above and below your chosen frequency.  Not sure of the quality of equipment you are using but the Chinese stuff you can get on eBay is famous for this kind of interference.  A wrongly placed harmonic in a Police, Aviation or Armed Forces band will get you attention quickly.
