Many RRTSs on 22 metre band. Also chilean gendarmeria operates on that segment.

Josh,

High powered transmission don't disturb me, but when they don't calibrate well their own rigs:  >:(.

R4002,

Very nice to see new logs of RRTS, I got cheated with the SDR that I bought on eBay so I keep without SSB receiver for all the bands, only my CB radio and a tecsun pl380 for listening to AM stations.

ChrisSmolinski,

Yes, here in Chile is quite difficult to get audio from Lupo because of bad propagation at this moment. It transmitts 24/7  so we only must keep trying.

Also it plays Argentinian 80s - 90s music but the signal seems to be from other country.

Here in Chile no one knows who is it, but the signal doesn't come from Argentina or Chile, probably from Brazil or countries closer to the Ecuador. Also it seems to have a really big transmitter and antenna.

Yes, It was Lupo, I was listening to it at that hour here in Chile, I love tangos, zambas and milongas!

9
Matt_B,

It's the name that receives CB channel 6 where a lot of folks transmit in AM mode with overmodulation and SUPER HIGH POWER in antenna.

10/11 meters / CH 6 superbowl channel received in Latin America
« on: April 03, 2018, 2323 UTC »
A catch of the superbowl channel here in Latin America (Chile), I don't know if they operate with 50 KW or if they use super high gain antennas...

How do they solve the problem with silence zones?

A lot of qrm from near broadcast station. It sounded like a radiotelephone conversation but it seems that they could be just peskies hiding form ham radio operators between AM 41 meters broadcast stations.

A guy from the FANATICOS DEL AM facebook group said that he is built a PWM transmitter with 20 W of power for transmitting rock music on the mentioned frequency segment.

Today the civil defense of Chile had a very intense activity on their main frequency on 6951 during presidential elections in the country.

Probably Dontri. Sometimes I hear SSTV and music, but I must say that anyone who transmitt music over SSB is an idiot, there is no way to make the recepciot comfortable.
