Operating in a non-interfering portion of the bands ... I don't think so, at least not in this case.

I just captured this image of an HFT on the back door of DDH 9 (11039 kHz) and who knows what else in between. DDH 9 is still punching through good readable. Both 20 kHz wide data / control HFT channels are clearly visible.

No luck either with decoding the transmission. They are short and most likely just an ID, no message traffic --- but it was fun trying anyways.

This PDF (HF NBDP Database for DXers v1.1) is a nice addition to have.

That is the problem with these digital transmissions. Just like the conversion to over-the-air HDTV, what a few 100 kW and a good antenna previously accomplished in the analog world now requires a 1 Mega Watt emitter in digital / DRM to achieve comparable coverage.
