10/11 meters / 19 Apr 2022 Middle East signals
« on: April 19, 2022, 1451 UTC »
Qatar on 27495 USB - Callsign 115DY173. Also presumed Lebanon comms in the background at the same time.

17
Music & talk, no idea if ID given.

Edit: Akenzo ID.

18
Mystery 21 doing a test, was transmitting SSTV earlier.

19
Dance music, good signal. Carrier was on for a while before.

Edit: Radio Scotland International ID.

20
Saw a carrier then a bit of music, S3 to S5. Now gone.

21
This sounds like FRS Holland, they were heard at 1657 hrs UTC on 5790 AM with their usual presenter with Dutch accent talking in English. He gave handover to the German service which is on now.

22
Good signal.  Sometimes they have weak signal. Other times they are not on air when they should be, my guess is power related as they seem to still have problems with their electricity supply. 13760 kHz & 15245 kHz have also had good signal in the past couple of weeks, but can vary one day to the next.

10/11 meters / 18 Apr 2022 - 10 metre band FT8
« on: April 18, 2022, 1626 UTC »
Starting to receive TEP from South Africa, Middle East & South America.

24
A looped anti-Putin message being played at random on the 20 meter band, changing frequencies between 14130 to 14160 kHz in USB mode. The voice was female but seemed to be from an application as it sounded a bit robotic.

25
1950 hrs UTC good reception. Speech & interview for last 10 mins, don't know if they play music.

Edit: they are now playing The Pina Colada song. Don't know if its part of the program or it finished.

26
1937 hrs UTC - I have been checking for an hour & the interference is still there. Reflections Europe is audible, but so is the STANAG signal. The interference has been there for maybe past 2 years, could be more. I don't know why they have not moved to another frequency.

27
RTTY utility right on 5140 kHz almost wiping out Charleston Int. Can somewhat hear music if I go on ECSS-L.

10/11 meters / 08 Apr 2022 11/10 metre activity

11 metre coming alive this late afternoon with maybe Turkish comms in FM mode. Today has been much weaker than yesterday although hopefully it will get better.

10 metre band has some signals from the Middle East, also south America.

27025 kHz Superbowl USA good signal

27135 kHz sounded Russian in AM mode

27215 kHz not sure, maybe Turkish comms in FM mode. Rough signal here

28074 kHz FT8 signals from the Greek Islands, Asia, north & south America.

28475 kHz Cyprus operator with very strong signal, 5B4KH

30
BBC World Service moved frequency from 15735 to 15740 kHz not long ago to avoid QRM from nearby stations. Now they are getting interference from a strong & wide signal on 15745 kHz which I presume is CRI, as it is in Chinese language with typical powerhouse reception. I cannot find any listing saying what this is on 15745 kHz, but must be CRI.

Edit: Transmission on 15745 kHz ended at 1400 hrs UTC with time pips, which is typical of CNR1. Maybe they were jamming a random Sound Of Hope transmission.

Edit: Seems it was CNR1 jamming Radio Free Asia in Tibetan language. Eventually found out on ShortwaveSchedule.com.
