No, I could see the 6280 kHz station on the waterfall while I was listening to the one on 6290 kHz.

I have thought about this and it might work very well. The problem though is that in the USA, demonstrating the FCC’s great ability to allocate spectrum, it is allocated both as a broadcast band and a Studio to Transmitter Link band. While the only broadcast station I am aware of in the band is World Music Radio in Denmark, there are STL’s from the USA that you would not want to interfere with. However, as you say it would be easily possible to operate mobile. You could pre-record your program and put it on the air while driving around. Good luck locating a broadcast from a moving vehicle. It would make locating your station nearly impossible, which would be very useful. I don’t know if a CB would have a good enough frequency response for music, but it might if you feed the audio directly into it.

I agree that a religious pirate is a very strange idea. It would likely be a much better idea just to buy airtime on one of the big religious stations. I highly doubt he has any listeners who really believe him. Very interesting that he would send pictures of his broadcast location, if it was indeed him. Maybe it was his own form of a QSL? The FCC report from 2014 states he was broadcasting from near Inyokern, California. He might have moved since then but he seems to at least still be in California. Let me know when you see what the subject line or email address was. I am amazed that after already being busted once that he hasn’t been busted again. His content is so ridiculous that I don’t think I could be the only one that is annoyed by it. I can’t believe nobody has reported him again because of it. Since he has already been warned if he gets caught again he will probably get a fine.

Good point. It also doesn’t seem to have made any difference so far. I might go back to logging him.

Interesting, I thought they were inactive.

Lately it seems that is true but it would not be unheard of for someone to switch on their transmitter out of the blue, for no particular reason.

Yep, one minute it's sittin' there doing nothin' and "Wham!" it's on and broadcasting.

Transmitters are funny things.

I should have been more specific, it has been 3 months since he was last heard until this logging. I have seen longer (Cold Country Canada has gone over a year between broadcasts) but most pirates broadcast more frequently than that. It is especially noteworthy because he operated almost daily from 12 July 2021 until 20 March 2022 so 3 months of nothing is unusual.

3029
He is active every day at the current time. I agreed with Pigmeat that if we don't log him here he might go away. Probably not, but you never know.

Interesting, I thought they were inactive. I will keep listening to see if they show up again. I might post my recording of the weird SSTV signals to see if anyone can decode it. I wish I had time to have a closer listen for the ID. I originally heard the music soon before I was going to go to sleep and I went somewhere early this morning and it was gone when I got back. I recorded some of the music so I will listen back and see if there was any useful ID.
