Steady S8 here into Houston. Some local static, but still very readable.

Very faint here in Houston. Just enough getting through the noise to be able to tell there's something there.

S9 on the meter here. Just tuned in right in time to hear an ID at 01:45Z and then into "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong" by the Spin Doctors, followed by "Two Wrongs Don't Make It Right", and at 01:54Z, a cover of Dr.John's "Right Place Wrong Time".

ID at 01:58Z followed by SSTV (no laptop running tonight) and then off.

Best pirate signal I've heard in a while. Thanks for the show!

Amazon has them for 93 bucks right now:

I wonder how these are? Reviews seem good.

Decent signal with music up to about 1950z, some announcement, speaking (it did sound like Afrikaans), and as soon as the music started again, the signal got a bit stronger. About an s4 to s5 here in Houston.

ID at 1954

Fading started, but now I can clearly hear a cover of Eye of the Tiger at 20:05

Tuned around to hear Sister Christian by Night Ranger.

Heavy QSB here in east Texas.
01:00Z Male announcer at top of hour, but noise level here makes things pretty unintelligible.

01:03Z Talking in your sleep by The Romantics

01:08Z Noise, Fading, and Pescadores are slowly taking over. Faint music in background, about S-2

01:14Z "This is vagina radio" - Seems different than normal PPVR fare I've heard before.

Thanks for the show!

Sadly missed the on air announcement tonight, but I did get the email saying mine should be delivered tomorrow. Can't wait. Thanks, Dr. Benway!

Yeah, but the FCC is trying to get Net Neutrality back up and running by reclassifying a bunch of technology. At least there is that.

I too miss HCJB. They were always putting a great signal into where I lived as a kid, and many an allowance was spent on stamps to send out reports. I collected a whole set of qsl cards they had one year that was nothing but waterfalls around Ecuador. Man, they were a great station.

Very faint here in SE Texas, but I can tell they're there.

Not really exotic DX, but nothing could really top the feeling I got one night as a kid, sitting on the porch with a boombox listening to a ballgame on mw with my dad, when all of a sudden a Mexican station started creeping in. That was that. I was twelve or thirteen, and I've heard some impressive stuff since then, and it was exciting, but I'll never forget hearing that Mexican station.

Even though I could mail order stuff all day long, I do enjoy spending time browsing through my local shop. It's like looking through somebody's garage for parts. You can get lost in there. I've spent hours just finding stuff and wondering what I could do with this or that. It's across town from me, so if I have to, I may go to Radio Shack down the street, but it's really rare. I duck in, in full "NOIDONTWANTACELLPHONE" mode, and when they see that I'm going through those two little cabinets of components in back, they leave me alone, lest I ask them a question about what any of that stuff does.
