Lots of qrm tonight but fair signal at times. Qsb made it hard to tune, but as soon as I got it, I heard an ID at 0222.

Excellent audio with very little static here into Houston.

Heard some Cab Calloway while getting dinner cleaned up.

0200 - Hendrix - The Wind Cries Mary
0221 - ID and into more music.

Thanks for the show!

Just managed to sit down for the night and do some listening, and I catch She's Gone by Hall and Oates coming in a little quiet but still very readable into Houston, TX.

Another song I didn't recognize after that, and then an announcement and ID around 0209 or so, and into more music. Really good signal, great audio here. Thanks for the show, WDDR!

0220 Cheap Sunglasses - ZZ Top (must be by request, above)
0222 - Announcements regarding requests and ID
0231 - Shout out to yours truly. Thanks!

I'd like to hear some Zappa if at all possible.

0241 - Montana by FZ (One of my all time favorites!) May your zircon encrusted tweezers never dull, sir!

0258 - Crowded House
0312 - Zeppelin - Gallows Pole

Caught some SSTV at the end. Not too shabby for an ATS-909X on the stock telescoping whip, indoors, with an android phone on the speaker:

Steady s5 here into SE Texas. Just tuned in. Hearing John Fogerty's Old Man Down the Road at 1:50UTC. ID immediately after.

Caught the sign on with music and ID, which was just barely intelligible here in Houston.

Imagine the knobs on that receiver, though...

Decent signal here, with old time music, piano and female vocals, some horns too.

S3-S4

0157 - Blue Moon. Signal improving!

Same here. I'm hearing beeps, some of which may make a letter here or there. Lots of noise, but readable beeps here in Houston.

About an s2 here in Houston. I'm hearing some music through the noise.

Barely coming through the noise here. S1

Ah yes. And it appears to be wolverine radio. Signal is getting better here, ever so slightly, about an S3.

Very faint here into Houston, lots of local noise, but I'm hearing some big band music. Something with a clarinet and a woman singing.

Lets see how propagation works out.

0145z Sly and the Family Stone: Dance to the Music
0215 Billy Idol: Dancing with Myself
0219 ID
0219 David Bowie: Let's Dance
0225 Men Without Hats: Safety Dance
0245 ID
0245 Genesis: I Can't Dance
0250 Tom Petty: Last Dance with Mary Jane
0258 SSTV too weak to copy here, and off.

Even in less than ideal band conditions here, it was a great show, as always. Thanks, Wolverine Radio!

It's just traditional Chinese music. Lots of strings like erhu, jianghu, etc. And wind instruments like the dizi and sheng.

I used to really enjoy the provincial broadcasters both on radio and tv during my time living in mainland China, because there was always at least a few hours a day of music like that from whatever region the transmissions came from.

The stuff they play on the Firedrake is alright, but if you want to relax, I suggest listening to some guzheng music:

Guzheng: "Spring River Flower Moon Night" 古筝 - 春江…: http://youtu.be/ujzMHLac404

Faint but still pushing through the noise here in the middle of Houston.

I'm actually wearing my Undercover Radio shirt right now. Last week, my aunt saw it and decided she wanted one, too. Perfect timing for another sale.

Thanks for the show and the shirts, Dr.Benway!
