8112 06-02-2013 1812 CW Russian Air Force "RRK" followed by a message at 1816 UTC. Very weak. Not the "W" station

Cool ! I finally heard several amateur beacons myself via a remote receiver in California. I often heard about them but they are too weak to copy them here in The Netherlands.

I was told by a Russian naval officer that the beacons are propagation beacons. There is indeed no "O" but you might have heard "S" or "D"

Yeah, that was years ago. I guess that they moved to 6809 and 4150 kHz. They popped up when 7002 kHz stopped. 6809 is not very often reported but 4150 is a regular guest. 3658 seems to be their fixed freq.

You can regularly hear beacon "V" on 4150, 4961, 6809 or 3658 kHz. But not as often as before.

The "buzzer"  is a normal Russian military station. Nothing mysterious about it. The buzzer is just a channel marker, to keep the frequency occupied. The station sends regularly tactical messages that can also be heard on other Russian military channels, both in voice and CW. UVB-76 has never been the station's callsign but its messages were sent TO UVB-76. The Moscow and Leningrad military districts merged on 1 September 2010 into the Western Military District (West Strategic Command) and includes the Northern and Baltic Fleets and special region Kaliningrad with HQ in St. Petersburg. Since the changes in 2010 they send messages TO MDZhB and other stations. That's right. The station has been sending voice null msgs for a while and the digital mode started on the 11th I think. It seems that they have replaced the voice messages now
