Update Oct 4 2012
Shortly after I made the original post - KGFR AM went silent..
I checked from time to time during the summer and nothing.. Went to Great Falls a few times this summer - again nothing on 1490 AM
Today Oct 4 2014 I noticed a nice strong 20 khz wide signal on 1490 khz - sure enough KFGFR is back on the air now, very nice audio!
I am about 75 miles from the tower with a mountain range between us so I loose them completely when they switch to night time power levels...

6924.14 khz AM ~S6 , considerable interference from a LSB signal on 6925 khz
00:37 utc - Could hear bits of Beethoven's 5th, anticipating an ELO tune?

00:40 utc UNID blues tune
00:42 begin another blues tune then audio off abruptly mid tune
00:41:32 utc Carrier Off
00:56 utc carrier back on - Beethoven's 5th again...
00:59 utc heard the announcer this time but could not make out what he said - into the blues again.

25910 khz AM mode? and 25990 FM mode both carrying the same programming - both strong signals with very little fading.
Oldies station - Texas State Network news, various west Texas advertisements
ID at 18:20 utc KLDE 104.9 and 105.3

I noticed the 160 meter ham band was active tonight so while reading this post I thought this A beacon might be wort a try. Sure enough it is coming in strong here in Montana tonight. CW Letter A repeated about every 10 seconds.

This beacon is just above the noise tonight but signal comes up enough to catch a few clear _..
Said to be part of a Russian "Cluster Beacon" in the 40 meter Ham band but I only see this one tonight.

Here is a screen capture of CKZN from 23:24 utc 9-14-2014
The carrier for CKZU (CBC Radio 1 Vancouver) is on 6159.984 khz
Note the UNID carrier to the left of CK's is on 6159.975 khz
I have good audio from CK but nothing heard from the other carrier even though it often is briefly higher in strength than CK's ?
00:06 utc I take it back - now hearing some audio underneath CKZU but can't make an ID.
