enigma designator E907b.  10250usb between 20 & 21 utc. From the UDXF list:

Paul from ENIGMA 2000 explains:
Whilst the synthesised voice is an off tone E06 chant the structure of the transmission almost matches E07a, especially with the ending 000 000.
In addition to this the E06 call up is usually ~ 3m45s; that of the E07/E07a ~ 2m00s. The call up in particular is 2m00s.
Once more is known about this apparently new station then the ident will reflect that.
Until such time please state E907b

General Radio Discussion / Cumbre DX program to end
« on: March 06, 2014, 0224 UTC »
from GH's DXLD:

Hello, everyone. I am writing to comment on the report some of you have read in DXLD. Glenn Hauser is correct. This weekend's DXing with Cumbre program will be the last show. I have had huge work responsibilities since the departure my station's program director a year ago, and things are not letting up. There has not been time to do a show every week, and this is why. Something has to give, and my boss at WCNY-FM has also been worried about my being overworked. Something has to go so that I don't go, and so I am giving up Cumbre. I love radio, but the radio that I do as my profession has to come first, and I'm sure that you and others will understand. The Cumbre DX Facebook group and DXing with Cumbre Yahoo group will continue. I thank all of you for your participation over the years. As mentioned in my reply to Sudipta Ghose on Facebook, this group will remain open for all of you, since it and the Cumbre DX Facebook group are the successors to the
former Cumbre DX, which came long before the radio program. Again, my thanks to all of you, and I hope you will stay with this group and stay in touch with me. I am not giving up radio, which is my profession; I just have to give up the Cumbre program. 73 and 88 to you all—(Marie Lamb, March 5, dxingwithcumbre yg via DXLD)

Shortwave Broadcast / dog walk log 1:27 utc 3/6/2014
« on: March 06, 2014, 0217 UTC »
I went out early tonight as the hound wouldn't let me alone until she got her walk.

Radio Australia   19000 KHZ  fair/good
Voice of Vietnam English service  6175  KHZ via Wofferton UK good at sign off
WWVH/WWV  15000  KHZ  WWVH inbooming ...WWV not
Pirate  (found out it was blah blah blah after I got home)  6949  KHZ weak w/ occasional audio bits heard.
Radio Romania International  7325  KHZ  very good with excerpts from operas  Carmen & Samson & Delilah . followed by sports.

All heard on PL660 with built in whip. During the opera bits I folded the antenna against the radio & engaged the key lock & put the radio in my pocket & went "hands free dx'ing". Many portables cant handle that as the antenna seems to go funky picking up internal hash from the radio but the PL660 does it very well.

73 Y'all

Utility / Utility radio legalities
« on: March 03, 2014, 1849 UTC »
After a discussion on UTwente chat today where I was roundly criticized for pointing out that it is illegal in the US to disclose the contents of intercepted communications. I am wondering what the deal is in other countries. It was pointed out to me that "its legal in free countries..." I would dispute that but I would really just be guessing. The matter came up when someone posted an EAM & I pointed out that technically that is illegal but I couldn't imagine someone actually getting in trouble for it. It seems that posting youtube vids of this sort of thing would be of questionable legality also. I recall that ,for example, in the Utility column in Monitoring Times people would log the frequency, the mode ,the user & a very general description of the actual communication without getting real specific. Can anybody shed some light on this.

70
signing on with huge signal.

71
Hugely inbooming signal on barefoot PL660 ( the whip was only extended 1/2 way). I guess spring time propagation is starting to kick in. I have to start checking higher freqs on my DX dog walks. Radio Australia was // on 15160 (very weak) & 15240(fair/good). btw, Seamus Award won the Guineas.

Also heard on dog walk tonight:

Voice of America  15580 KHZ  English programming  "American Cafe" into "Correspondents" with good signal via Botswana    good

Voice of Korea  15180   Spanish service     poor

Also hear Turtlehead radio. Especially strong during qso's w/ RML

BBC Kinyarwanda service  via Meyerton South Africa   good

Presumed as only JBA/JBV carrier but I think this is their Thursday 5:00z frequency.

3/1/14 5:30z   I tried for this one as I walked the dog & had noticed that 19 meters was alive at 5:30 utc & found them very strong on barefoot portable PL660. Huge difference from previous night.

74
Shortwave Broadcast / Radio Algerienne 5865 KHz 5:00 utc 2/27/14
« on: February 27, 2014, 0507 UTC »
Huge inbooming signal via Issoudon (500kw)  with tones into anthem followed by sudden cut in to Holy Quran. Aoki lists this as both French & Arabic.

75
Channel Africa in English heard with ID's & talk about the perils of being gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) in Africa. Excellent signal on barefoot PL660.
