I'm not sure who is behind this, but there are a couple of radio related choices at:

(832)999-8142

World of Radio is always 2 & Amateur radio news line is number 1. The others change from time to time. One of them used to be the new Media Network program that Keith Perron does but I don't think its there anymore. The WOR show sometimes goes a while without being updated (as does the ARNL), but he recently began updating again. I listen to WOR sometimes when I have a long commute on the bus & don't have a laptop with me.

S9 in KCMO. Heard Billy Joel at 1:40 & Creedence at 1 :49.  very respectable sounding signal. The op talk has a spacy echo that I find annoying though.  Ozzy at 1:51z.
Thanks form the show...y'all

fair to good signal here using synch detector on PL660 as I sit on my front porch. Very fady but good on peaks.

I'm hearing thus one now. Poor to fair signal on portable PL660, not much better on SDR or R75. Nice African music from S/O until 17:09 when OM starts talking.

RML is unusually weak tonight. Barely moving the S-meter on my Sat 750 & totally inaudible on portable while walking the hound.

3:21z  Coming up a bit with Johnny Cash "I walk the line"

Spy Numbers / new frequency for HM01?
« on: October 14, 2013, 1317 UTC »
I saw this in GH's daily logs.

** CUBA [and non]. 7320, Oct 9 at 0516, big open carrier, and then just-barely-modulated spy numbers alternating with digital bursts. Also barely audible underneath is R. Rossii, which normally has no such QRM. At 0531, still JBM only with longer 5-digit number strings. New frequency for this? RHC itself never uses the 7 MHz band as an international law-abiding station (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

I'm not sure how they ended up on 7320 & I have checked for them since seeing this but haven't heard them there. I've tried to figure out what combination of frequencies work out to put HM01 on 7320 as a third order type of deal but ....?? It always turns out to be a simple computation that I just overlooked so if anybody can figure it out....

This one was heard last night on  3234.95 kHz. by DXLD contributor Ron Howard in California. They are probably using other freqs that we haven't noticed . Ron attached an audio ID with his log.

I would probably tune right past this one ,thinking it just another religious station.

Heard very well on portable while dog walking. Awesome signal with the usual killer audio. S meter on PL660 has 5 bars & XFM filled them all quite nicely

I heard this on my new portable, a Tecsun pl660. I was walking the dog & trying to reach the nearest "inductive coupling station" ...a stop sign 4 blocks from my qth that I'v left a test lead connected to for my convenience. I started to hear Vo7 before I was able to reach the quiet stop sign. I was really shocked to hear them as I rarely get them from my qth with "good" radios & antennas. 003 callup & into message. I entered the noise zone where there are 6 streetlights in a 1 block area at 1:51z & when I was in the clear again they were off. Callup was  " Ocho...ocho...tres"

btw I am indebted to Desmoface & Token for the heads up on this. I am really pleased to have heard it, especially via a barefoot portable.
