Heard on portable  (Tecsun PL380) while walking to 7-11 for smokes. decent signal that occasionally acted as BFO for pescadores. signal strength on pl380 was 30dbu ( I guess thats like S5 or so ainnit?) Heard TCS ID at about 3:30 just before I went into 7-11 & lost all reception to fluorescent light qrm. gone when I finally was away from busy street & all those wretched lights at about 3:45z.

The log that I referred to from Jonathan short in GH's yahoo group called the station "Star Star". I've never heard it called that although I have heard variations on "New Star Broadcasting"  Star Star is a Rolling Stones song otherwise called "Star f*cker"

Tuned via remote receiver in Hong Kong. I saw a tip from Jonathan short in China on DXLDyg about this & remembered that I used to hear it most mornings on my DX 398 back in 1999/2000 during the winter. reception via Hong Kong was fair at best & seemed to be gone at 13:28z.

This is the only Firedrake that I can hear direct. It is daily cited in GH's dxldyg. I think it is on Radio Free Asia via Kuwait. I check daily but can not hear any other FD's direct from my QTH. On Twente from 19 - 21 utc I find 5890  9745 & 7220 with FD's.

Heard with barefoot portable (ATS909x) at 3:03z on DX dog walk. Signal was weak but copyable with no movement on the ATS's funky little S meter.I listened until 3:09z when I tuned away for a couple of minutes. At 3:11z recheck signal was gone.

S9+20 here with Edward R Murrow CBS radio report from London circa 1940

I could be wrong but it sounds like the D Day special that I heard in June from a Euro pirate.

TCS is quite good here with steady S9+10 signal heard ID at 2:17 just when I tuned in, how often does that happen?

VoG is audible tonight on 3 frequencies at 8:00 UTC.  9420  11645  15630. I think they just make it up as they go along. 24 hours ago they were not on air at all.

655
Tuned in at 7:36z to RTN ID's & email addy. deep fades but up to S9+10 on peaks

Good copy here in Missouri. I checked before I went to bed at 5:40 UTC & found great old "squeezebox" type blues at S9+10. Haven't heard ya in a while BOR welcome back.

I wonder how long this place will last. I love the idea , Merging my two favorite things. I've worked as a chef for many years, I wonder if he's hiring.

Shortwave Broadcast / Voice of Greece weirdness continues
« on: August 15, 2013, 1427 UTC »
Last night , UT Thursday, checking from 3:00 - 5:00 UTC I noted a complete absence of VOG on all of its usual frequencies. Those are 7475  9420  9935  11645  15630  15650. None were active. This morning checking via Twente while I was at work I found VOG on 9420 but not anywhere else. Perhaps the end is near for the occupying former ERT staffers. The Greek government started moving to retake & shut down all of their transmitters on August 9'th & 10'th
