My best guess is Sound of Hope Radio Int'l - I've logged them on 11160khz and 11300khz but never on 11170.  But they have been known to jump around like a frog....
Thx for the report.

Congrats on the albeit rough Thailand!
I was also lucky enough to grab "chart not available" charts from Sambro the other day.  Thx for the heads up.

Hello - got the probe fixed - not sure what they did but all is swank!
Good time of the year for MW DX - still some of us knuckleheads left - hah!  About 750 stations logged from here near Chicago and looking forward to more.
BTW the new XHDATA D-808 portable is incredible on MW - was available thru eBay - shipped to me from Israel though seller in china - not an ad for them but if you're into MW DX it beats every other portable and high end tabletop receiver that I own.
Thx everyone for their help - FPE

Maybe this will trip someone on here's tech brain:
I have in the past used the probe at the end of a patch cord connected to the external tuning unit of my my Kiwa Loop (at the so 239 "to receiver" output jack on the tuning unit with a patch cord - with the ferrite probe on the other end).
Does that help anyone with tech knowledge as to how this probe should be wired internally?
Maybe not but I figured this is worth a try as the Kiwa is more familiar to many people - I think.
Thx again

Yes - I saw Neil & the boys on that tour - those gnomes were creepy - kind of like those things in Omega Man.  The psychedelics as you mention made them even creepier!
Good times.

Gents - thx for the replies & help.  So my buddy had one of his techs reconnect all the wires & resecure the RCA jack.  But alas I doesn't seem to work.  The loop itself works fine barefoot - using proximity mode - so I know that much.  But the probe shows no result in reception improvement when utilized.
If I can tell my buddy how to build one he can get that done but his place focuses on RF interference /FCC compliance stuff - his techs are all pretty young - the super select -a-tenna blew their minds.  Hah!
So can anybody send me some type of diagram of what needs to be done to get this ferrite probe "active" - I use it for small portables that don't have an external antenna input.  It connects to the loop via a patch cord to an 1/8" mini jack on the loop and the probe has an RCA female jack.  You put the probe near the ferrite rod in the radio.  The ferrite rod in the probe is about 1/4" diameter and maybe 2-3" long.
I'm a dope for busting it.....
Thx

Thanks! I was thinking it was from either "Stars And Bars" or "Zuma" but they have such a similar sound despite Frank Sampedro becoming a member of Crazy Horse between the two and the decades since, it's hard to recall which album what tunes were on.

Neil and the boys were really hitting their stride in that era. Crazy Horse was a very good, but underrated band on it's own. That's what happens when you hitch your wagon to an established star.

The radio shooting guitar player had two six ft. tall blonde sisters who looked like prototypes for the "Swedish Bikini Team" a decade later. He looked like he'd been hit by a bus face first. They were all on the far side of nuts.

I was working the door at a friends bar when the youngest sister walked in. Some fool biker got the urge to grab her by her fine butt. She hit him with an overhand right that knocked him cold and broke his nose. He caught crap about that one for years.

Hah!  Very nice!
Yes crazy horse was a great band and perfect for Neil (though he abused them so terribly it's amazing they stuck with him all those/these years!).
Zuma was released Nov of 75 - just off the Tonites the Night tour ("fueled by tequila and cheese burgers").  Drive Back.  Stupid Girl.  Cortez the Killer.
American Stars & Bars was June 77 - the beginning of country Neil (if you will....).  Old Country Waltz.  Saddle Up the Palomino.  Fiddles and female backing vocals.... Then Comes a Time LP.
Ah the good old days....
