Spy Numbers / HM01 11635 KHZ 2100 UTC 09/23/2013 low audio
« on: September 23, 2013, 2116 UTC »
Hi Folks,

Listening to HM01 11635 KHZ 2100 UTC 09/23/2013 with very low audio but a strong S9++ signal.

The modulation is just about at the noise level in-fact I have to listen in USB to really hear anything at all.

Sounds like the transmitter blew the modulation output stage and only the driver stage leakage is modulating the signal. ;-)

Someone is asleep at the switch again it seems... par for the course for that lot ehhh?

Yesterday I listened on this same frequency and time and nothing heard at all except the carrier.  It's a wonder their people ever get their messages...  works for me <heh>

Have a good day and a better tomorrow!

10/11 meters / 3837 voice beacon on 27500khz usb & earlier a CW station
« on: September 22, 2013, 1532 UTC »
Hi all,

1500utc Voice beacon on 27500khz USB using call "3837"

Also I heard a CW station earlier (appox 1430utc) on same frequency using CW @ 15 WPM using the call "38/47DX101" in QSL with "DR JEAN"

The voice beacon is still very loud at this QTH but I'm going to head up to 10m to see if anything is happening up there.

BTW I do have mp3's of the above if needed.

The top link gives the text and the lower link gives you and audio read of the above.

Quite interesting for those that follow sunspot news etc but I find it a bit taxing on my brain :-) I do my own propagation 'forecast' by turning on my receivers and giving it a listen. <heh>

HM01 11635 KHZ 1800utc 08/22/2013 SIG S4-S6 (vry poor rx)

Noise level here has increased and propagation is very poor on most frequencies at this time.

The morning started out well with me hearing a few CBers (27MHZ) from Jamaica but didn't hold up here.

Check the dx-cluster and it looks dismal for the US but the EU seems to be going well.

I also noticed a slight (a few milliseconds ie: rec1 vs rec2) delay on the signal, vertical vs horizontal with the signal being received on the horizontal first... a random thing I guess, lay it off to the propagation conditions.

CW 22WPM 5 letter grps 16263.84 (dial) 2224utc  08/21/2013 signal 579

Caught a header for one message as follows:

 BT NR 60 A 22 01:18:1 * 1985 BT OORER QXTCP KXJPX HWCBR EUMUL ... etc

Not sure what it is or where it is...  but it is still on at 2332utc but the signal is down in the noise.

Any ideas?

17720 KHZ R.HABANA CUBA 22:10 UTC in Spanish signal 59+

This must be one of the dirtiest signals I have ever heard out of Cuba in a long time.  Over driven with splatter up to 17731+ KHZ and down to 17700 KHZ...

When will they ever learn? or do they really care?  maybe both?

Shortwave Broadcast / Radio Cairo on 11890khz at 2115utc
« on: August 18, 2013, 2148 UTC »
Radio #Cairo English service on 11890khz 2115utc aug 18, 2013 voice not being heard only the carrier is audible because of this I have to 'assume' it is, in fact, Radio Cairo.

Perhaps the transmitter is automated?

Filipino fishermen on 16545 khz USB 08/11/2013 1552utc

Very active frequency. I did a little research and other good frequencies for this are: 16540, 16550 khz and many others in this frequency area all are USB. Language is Tagalog and other regional languages mixed in to make it interesting :-)

Well finally found the Firedrake this morning on:

13795khz 08/08/2013 1230utc and still on at 1304 utc

Perhaps jamming 'Free Asia' bcst to Tibet that should be on at this same time.

Never fear Firedrake is here...  <sigh> I missed it so much I got an mp3 of it to listen to during 'off hours' <heh>

& I agree... Firedrake the NSA!
