Sporadically, there is a digital transmission centered on 6955 kHz, about 1 kHz wide, in this 'theater', even as of now (0158z) ...

North American Shortwave Pirate / Re: Outhouse Radio ~6932 L
« on: August 04, 2010, 1645 UTC »
Spacey new age type music since about 0210z.  Started out at about 6930 but has drifted up to a bit above 6932.  Outhouse ID at 0228z.

Signal is about S7.  Audio is somewhat distorted.

Thanks!

Delayed report from the field:

Good copy with only a portable (Degen 1103) and telescopic whip

8-04-2010 from about 0213z onward.

Sounded like signal could have been DSB w/reduced carrier, but not definitive about this.

Yup; was on their e-mail list for several years.

There is also another purpose of those sweeps, as part of HF-DF SSL (Single-Site Location) systems ...

WMPR on at 2253z with "WMPR, micro powered radio" ID.  Into the usual dance/techno music.

2300 "WMPR 6925. You're invited!"

Big S9+10 signal tonight!

2332z Can tell there is a carrier in there, seems like it's trying to 'surge' stronger as prop picks up.

Edit: And - some audio too if I use AM/Synch.

Using 2' tuned loop and WR.

15 W ... not bad ...

Sounds like pgm content is/was rock ATTM

2320z Signal weak ATTM, can detect carrier but not much, if any audio owing to changing condx

0216z Good copy here into Texas, Ron.

Listening on tuned 2' loop and WR-G303e.

I'm getting a fookin head ache trying to tune this guy ::), best tune is 6930.5 usb?

There at the last, best copy was around 6930.4x ... AMS (AM/Synch) on this rig will 'pull' to the carrier some small amount, so that's what I used ...
