Fair signal, woman suddenly came on discussing politics, this might be todays broadcast of Democracy Now, not sure. Okay, I was wrong, it's not Democracy now, also signal slowly fading, at 0133 punk rock tune, at 0143 song "stand by me" sung by women, under the noise, at 0145 a folk tune with banjo,

At 2338utc I hear a weak carrier, with moderately rapid fading, in ssb mode and barely hear audio at times. Does anybody else hear this or is it intermod? I'm within 15 miles of several Chicago mediumwave station transmitters all 50kw, collocated 670 and 780 using same tower, and 720khz.

Was sitting on 6950, weak signal, at 2335 pop music came on,

Pop/rock music, DJ talking, weak signal with low noise, SSTV/FAX at 0135utc, bagpipe music at 0149utc, SSTV/FAX at 0154utc, SSTV/FAX at 0205utc then off.

Weak signal at noise floor, the tune "Innagadadavida" came on suddenly, SSTV/FAX at 0156 immediately after tune ended followed by another rock song, at 0201utc song "in a white room with black curtains", SSTV/FAX at 0213utc, slowly fading away.

Very weak, barely hear male singing with rock music under low noise floor, now barely hear blues tune with woman singing, at 0047 song "dazed and confused", SSTV/FAX at 0058utc and again at 0106utc,

weak signal under low noise, hear rock ballads from late 60's early 70's, song "desperado", signal improving a bit, CW ID at 0120 several times (I'm not fluent in Morse),

Weak signal, howling dog then WDOG ID, now Elvis "hound dog", then song "now I want to be a dog", more dog tunes, seems to be a canine themed program, wide variety of popular music from 1950's to present, seems to have gone off the air at 0229utc after dogs howling.

Came on at 0058 immediately after after Wolverine, fair signal, said "drunken DJ radio", at 0122 first SSTV/FAX, at 0124 Doors "riders on the storm", oh far out man, nice tunes from late 60's early 70's from the Hippie era, brings back memories, second SSTV/FAX at 0159, third SSTV/FAX at 0225, fourth SSTV/FAX at 0302utc,

Tuned in at 0153, poor weak signal some selective fading, pop music, WDOG ID, more music, DJ switching between AM and USB at times, at 0209utc song "closing time", apparently DJ seeing poor results on this freq,

Equipment / Active antenna for condo or apt
« on: July 14, 2019, 0157 UTC »
I've been thinking about moving into a condo in the future. I'm 73 and tired of taking care of a 92 year old house that has problems. This means I would be giving up my 7mhz backyard dipole and CB antenna. I would like to know if anybody is using an active antenna in a condo or apartment and how good the reception is. I fear there would be too much QRM in a multiple unit building. Thanks for any answers.

Very weak under low noise, hear rock music with female singer, then nothing,

Very weak in noise, hear blues tune, slow Morse code (I'm not fluent in Morse)

Barely hear male voices and music under heavy static, at first sounded like Amos and Andy, at 0027 lucky strike program with Jack Benny. Tuned in again at 0148 and weaker now, barely hear anything.
