Thanks for the info! I really appreciate it. I have been listening to shortwave for years (stopped for awhile), but I was never really into the utility stuff. I didn't realize what I was missing, this is some really interesting stuff.

6738.6

Really strong signal, but was basically a voice saying "Tango, Whisky, Zulu, Golf" etc ended with a "that is all" and went off the air. Sounds like it was military. Can someone explain what this was? Some kind of test message, a drill or EAM?

I have read a bit into it, and I'm not "bent out of shape" over it. I know HAARP is an actual project to study the ionosphere, but I don't think that it controls the weather/can create storms etc. I personally think that if we had the ability to do this we would not keep it hidden.

Feel free to believe whatever you want to. I'm not one to tell you otherwise, I just have a hard time believing that the weather is being controlled by radio and used as a weapon by any government/organization. I am a skeptic by nature. I know that the weather can be altered (cloud seeding), but I don't think that storms and tornadoes can be created.

Whatever it is, it is very sad. It has been a rough year weather wise. I had to spend some time in my basement on Sunday. My dog was very confused.

Pretty heard I have heard this as well, 2 or 3 nights ago. There is always some weird stuff going on around 7000. I guess I thought it was the usual activity coming from Mexico, but it also could have been these guys

Pretty sure I heard the same thing about an hour or two ago. Sounded like data transmissions. Also picked up what sounded like some military talk a bit lower (around 6903) followed by data transmissions.

I posted this on FRN, just a copy and paste.

location: Rockford, IL Near Chicago.
Equipment: Sony ICF-2010, actually just using whip right now.
Freq: 6922.9
3:04: Heard some metal music, couldn't quite make it out. After song heard some chatter. Sounded like "a few more songs". Signal was best at this point. Still fading and and out, wasn't able to make out the chatter
3:06: Heard another song. Started to lose signal around 3:15ish.

No interference, just the fading in and out. Its always such a thrill to pick up these stations! Keep it up.
