Nice catch Skipmuck.  They are based in Ireland, and may be the easiest way to add Ireland to your NASWA heard and verified country totals.  I have a hard copy QSL from them from the late 90's; they may still QSL, so it's worth a try.

I have it here in NY, at 2253 UTC, playing a song with a reggae beat and female vocals.  S7 in NY.  Some CW also on channel, or very close by.  2258 "The Hop" Radio Citizen featuring Bajka (as per Shazam).

153
Heard "YMCA" by Village People when I tuned in.  Followed by some 80's hair band type rock music.  S6 in NY.  "Final Countdown" now at 2118 UTC.

Have heard various styles of music thus far; a slow Motown type song, some electronic music.  Deep voiced male announcer, so could be Johnny Tobacco.  S5 in New York at 2023 UTC.  Some USB chatter nearby.  Sounds like some polka type music at 2025 UTC.  Carrier of at 2028 UTC.  Now sounding like call to prayer on
6300 kHz in USB mode.

This one will present an interesting DX target for us.  This is from their Facebook page:

RCW Radio Company Worldwide ... The Chilean international is a FREE station ... born of constant and unfortunate demise of shortwave broadcasters whose mission is to keep Chile in the HF bands and disseminate cultural, informational programming and musical. RCW is, so far, the only station in the country issuing Shortwave after the close of the Issuer Calera de Tango Center.
In creating RCW undeniably recognize that was inspired by the old Dutch radio RNW, noticing in our programming and corporate figure his clear influence.
Our Shortwave broadcasting center of the City of San Francisco in Chile currently has a power of 45 Watts AM (0,045 KW) with a dipole antenna G5RV inverted V type, emitting at frequencies of 6,925 or 7,550 kilohertz. In our channels are Internet and LISTEN2MYRADIO - USTREAM.
RCW is small among small shortwave stations but is proud to be a radio that somehow helps to keep alive this important but underrated form of broadcasting. GREETINGS FROM SAN FRANCISCO IN CHILE ... 73!

Equipment / Re: Ferrite Core 1, RFI 0

John Bryant wrote an excellent article on the use of RF chokes to "sanitize" your coax:

http://www.dxing.info/equipment/coax_leadin_bryant.pdf

The article discusses different core materials, and provides equations on designing chokes for your frequency of interest.

I have a similar installation as Chris on all my coax lead-ins, except that I use a smaller FT-140 type J core and RG-174 coax.  The RG-174 coax is terminated on each end with a PL-259 connector.  I then use a female-female coax adaptor to connect the choke in  between the coax lead-in and my antenna switch.

It's a worthwhile experiment to see just how much unwanted signal your coax will pickup on it's own, with a short between the center and braid at the remote end.  In my case I found a significant improvement with only a single choke near my radio, as the choke outside at the antenna didn't make much of a difference.  Also, I didn't bother with the separate ground on the shield remote to the radio.

If you use coax as a lead-in for your longwire, you will also get a huge improvement if you use an RF matching isolation transformer to connect the coax to the longwire.  This is a lot easier to do than it sounds. John Bryant also wrote an article on this topic: http://www.dxing.info/equipment/impedance_matching_bryant.pdf

You can also use Minicircuits transformers to do the same thing, with no need to wind anything.  http://www.minicircuits.com/products/transformers_pic_a.shtml

Bruce Conti has an excellent tutorial on the construction of these isolation transformers.  I've built several for DXers using the Rubbermaid baby food container as the housing, and this made the difference between hearing mostly noise to actually logging some real DX.

Pretty sure this is WHYP back on in USB at 2146 UTC with the Go-Go's.  Coming in much stronger than before.  Yep, ID at 2149 UTC.  Into Herbie Hancock.  Incredible audio for SSB!

Hearing some 80's music here; "She's Fresh" at tune-in.  S5 in NY.

I don't have a carrier, I think it's in USB.  Tuned in at 1332 UTC, really hard to make out what this is.  It sounds like Christmas vocals at times ("Ave Maria"), but also a ute on top of it?

I agree, this is a great idea.

If anyone needs help with Hungarian, I'm your guy.

I'm not sure if CKZU 6160 is on the air at the moment.  (I'm on the east coast, and have never heard it since CKZN 6160 in Newfoundland is much closer and stronger for me).

I suggest you do a little bit of reading to understand how shortwave works, and how to use your receiver.  Here are a couple of links to get you started:

General Radio Discussion / Re: Halloween 2016 SW Pirate Activity
« on: November 01, 2016, 1309 UTC »
Joe, you beat me to it.  I can't remember the last time we had so much activity for the entire night.  Plus, I think we were fairly lucky with propagation.  The band didn't go long until later, plus other stations kept coming on throughout the night.  I really put my SDRPlay to good use last night, and recorded the entire RF spectrum on 43 meters.  I didn't get a chance to post all my loggings in real-time as there was just so much going on at the same time.  In addition to some excellent programs (my favorites were from Undercover Radio and Witch City Radio), the audio quality was excellent from all the stations.  A big thank you to all the stations for a very entertaining night!

Interesting conditions, I don't have the usual powerhouse signal from Wolverine.  The station on 6945 is much stronger for me.  Hearing a bluesy tune at 0026 tune-in.
