1540 UTC first noted.  Strong to fair signal strength, 13-14 kHz wide at full deviation.  Via G8JNJ RaspSDR internet SDR receiver.  Frequency 29.875 MHz FM.  29.875MHz FM.  Possibly Japanese language.  Fishing fleets.  Asian fishery radio 29.875MHz.

Also noting strong POCSAG paging signals on 29.8 MHz and 29.9 MHz.

Listening via online SDR - G8JNJ RaspSDR.  1500 UTC

Noted polytone data bursts (on several of the frequencies, also there was POCSAG signals!) on the following frequencies:

31.325 MHz
31.3875 MHz
31.4375 MHz
31.475 MHz - POCSAG paging signals noted on this frequency as well
31.6875 MHz
31.900 MHz
31.925 MHz
31.975 MHz

Fishery radio networks, 27.500 MHz FM to 39.475 MHz FM - 25 kHz spacing.  Channelized, carrier squelch, simplex FM.

Fishing trawler radio chatter 27.750 MHz 27.75MHz 27.975MHz 27,975 27,750.  27.500 MHz FM 39.500 MHz FM.  Channel 20 frequency 27.9750 FM

SIO 222 to SIO 333, some dramatic fading.  Asian fishing radio fleet radio network 27.500 MHz - 39.475 MHz FM.  Often listed as 27.5MHz - 39.5MHz or 27.500 MHz - 39.500 MHz.  25 kHz spacing.  Fully channelized.  25 watt transmit power, 16K0F3E / 16K0G3E voice emission, 300 baud or 1200 baud AFSK / MFSK data transmission - 16K0F1D 16K0G1D emissions 16K0F2D / 16K0G2D GPS location ship to ship individual vessel call.  Channel 1 is 27.500MHz, channel 2 is 27.525MHz, channel 3 is 27.550MHz, channel 4 is 27.575MHz, channel 6 is 27.600MHz and so on.

System is carrier squelch only, single frequency simplex.  No PL/DPL (CTCSS/DCS) tone squelch in use.  Just regular old simplex FM with carrier squelch, although the data based selective calling is apparently heavily used for individual vessel call and receiver muting (similar to the HF SSB SELCAL system, apparently).

Lots of activity in the 29 MHz band, 30 MHz band, 31 MHz band...but now they're also showing up in 27 MHz.  Logged similar activity on 27.750 MHz FM (with pager POCSAG QRM, UK FM CB radio QRM 27.75125 MHz FM and SSB freeband CBer QRM).  Russian taxi dispatcher land mobile radio QRM.  Minor UK FM CB QRM from 27.97125 MHz FM as well.

Tuning around 11m band 27 MHz band this morning, noted strong POCSAG paging signals on 27.845 MHz 27845 kHz, nearly nonstop.

I checked 26.945 MHz, 26.960 MHz and others and they're quiet.

Now there's an off-frequency POCSAG signal centered on 27.847 MHz or 27.8475 MHz or 27.848 MHz.  Tunes fine on 27.850 MHz.  Noted POCSAG activity on 27.855 MHz as well.  Seems like 27850 kHz 27.85 MHz is the "center" frequency.

Heard at approx. 1125 UTC on May 25 2023 via G8JNJ SDR in Wessex, UK.

Fair to good signal on 27.7500 MHz FM [CSQ].  Some QRM from UK FM CB on 27.75125 MHz FM and SSB activity on 27.745 MHz and 27.755 MHz.  Weak POCSAG pager paging signal on 27.75 MHz as well.

Yesterday afternoon I did some VHF low scanning, California Highway Patrol was booming in, among many other users.  Also heard a fair amount of above 30 MHz Latin American traffic (mostly taxi cabs).   Fort Hood, Texas Range Control on 30.450 MHz FM [150.0 Hz tone squelch] was also full scale.  SNOTEL data on 40.670 MHz FM [CSQ] and the BNSF rail data link system was going nuts on 44.580 MHz FM [CSQ]

34.1500 MHz FM [150 Hz] Had a strong FM signal on it, with that little 150Hz hum in the background, but no audio that I could make out.  Signal was there for well over an hour (this is around 2:00 in the afternoon US Eastern time, in downtown Richmond VA).   I did manage to get a few video clips of it, along with some of the other activity.

In the past I've heard somebody left the radio on transmit mode before - usually on the 30.000 MHz frequency, but 34.15 FM is a new one for me.  I will do some digging and see if that's a known range control, etc. frequency at a US military base.
