I noticed this traffic while tuning around the area nearby where the Italian traffic on 4630 kHz has been heard.  I think this is Italian, but there is such intense QRM from the wideband swoop swoop swoop signal that seems to occupy roughly 4420 kHz to 4650 kHz that I won't confirm it 100%.  I'll say 99% sure, considering the similar signal strength to the Italian signals just 10 kHz up on 4630 USB.

4630 kHz 4.630 MHz 4.63 MHz possible marine mobile maritime mobile communications.  Heard on east coast of USA starting at 0242 UTC on September 7th, 2017.

The Italian language two-way HF SSB traffic has returned to its usual home frequency, 4630 kHz USB mode.  Heavy QRM from over the horizon radar or another wideband sweep-tone signal.

Spanish voices SS language SS traffic Spanish language 6780 kHz

Faint two-way voice traffic heard on this frequency tonight, only bits and pieces but enough for me to pick out a couple Spanish words, logging this as peskies given the characteristics (frequency, mode, frequency step, time of day, language, etc).    I have logged several phone patch or radiotelephone-like QSOs in the area around 6765 kHz, 6770 kHz or so, including 6775 kHz and several offset frequencies such as 6771.5 kHz and 6772.5 kHz so 6780 kHz fits in there.  It also fits with the 5 kHz frequency step that the Spanish speaking freeband nets seem to use.

While 6900 LSB is booming in now (was weaker earlier) I'm hearing what sounds like an OM talking to several different stations on 6868 USB.  OM seems to be a net control of sorts.  He's talking to several stations in a quasi-roundtable fashion, and at points seems to be yelling into the microphone.  Lots of radio checks and general lighthearted traffic (saying hey, what's up, etc).  Not sure if this is freebanders or fishing fleets, as the fishing fleets seem to like the "cute" frequencies, and the freebanders usually stick to 5 kHz channel steps.  Of course, there's exceptions to both those rules.  The existence of a powerful hurricane in the Caribbean right now could also be part of the reason for increased activity in the 6-7 MHz region on top of the usual peskie frequencies (6900 LSB, 6925 LSB, etc).  Good signals with heavy static crash QRN and noise

And, the Portuguese pescadores are back.  6925 kHz LSB.  Lots of static crashes and stations transmitting over each other.  S3 signal strength with some peaks to S5

6881 kHz 6.881 MHz
Mode: LSB
Language: Spanish

Hearing freeband-like two-way communications on 6881 kHz LSB.  Lots of "hola! holaaaa!!!" type transmissions.  The stations seem to be slightly off-frequency from each other.  Lots of static crashes due to heavy rain and thunderstorms in the area.  S7 on peaks so pretty strong audio but the lightning crash QRN is making it difficult.

Geomagnetic storm conditions today, but I am hearing some very weak Spanish language traffic on the usual 6900 LSB frequency for freebanders operating below the 40 meter band.

The band seems relatively quiet tonight (at least for my listening location), however I am hearing weak radio check like traffic (read: HOLAAAAA HOLA HOLA and operators whistling into their microphines) on 6900 kHz LSB - which we now know is the "watering hole" frequency for 43 meter two-way communications Spanish language anyway.  6900 LSB is to Spanish as 6925 LSB is to Portuguese.

Messing around with a Russian remote receiver this afternoon, particularly the 11 meter band (which is quiet) and the 2-4 MHz border region between MF and HF, several posts here and elsewhere on the Internet have indicated to the use of so-called village radios in certain parts of Russia.  So, as always fascinated by bootleg two-way communications on weird bands, I decided to do some more monitoring.  No, I don't speak Russian.  Most of these transmissions, especially the ones in AM mode, are off-frequency.  Indications are that many of these folks are using surplus Russian military radios.

Logs, starting at 1600 UTC September 5th, 2017 (1900 Moscow time)

2880 kHz USB - Russian language
2900 kHz USB - Russian language, right on frequency, chatter similar to the 3 MHz AM signals
2915 kHz AM - Russian language
2920 kHz USB - Russian language, S5 to S7 signals nice audio
2995 kHz AM - Russian language, with QRM from 3000 kHz traffic
3000 kHz AM - Russian language, nearly nonstop traffic
3025 kHz AM - Russian language, several OMs talking, very strong (S9+ with powerful modulation)
3055 kHz AM - Russian language, weaker than 3025 AM, peaking at S4-S5, very chatty
3065 kHz AM - Russian language, all radios off-frequency
3080 kHz AM - Russian language, OM chatting very rapidly, strong AM signals S7 to S9+30db
3090 kHz AM - Russian language, OMs and YLs talking, most stations are off-frequency (3089 kHz, 3091 kHz, etc)
3105 kHz AM - Russian language, some with minor overmodulation, S9 to S9+30db very strong
3110 kHz AM - Russian language, lots of QRM due to signals squeezed together around 3 MHz
3115 kHz AM - Russian language, causing serious QRM to 3120 kHz AM and vise-versa (two QSOs going at once)
3120 kHz AM - Russian language, radio checks, very powerful AM signals here (strongest one S9+20db)
3125 kHz AM - Russian language, weak, getting killed by 3120 kHz
3145 kHz AM - Russian language, one station on 3144 kHz talking to another on 3147 kHz
3150 kHz AM - Russian language, different QSO from 3145 kHz, lots of QRM
3160 kHz AM - Russian language - signal strength weaker than most other logs
3170 kHz USB - Russian language, with QRM from 3175 kHz AM
3175 kHz AM - Russian language, several mentions of "microphona" and "microphone"
3200 kHz AM - Russian language
3210 kHz AM - Russian language, several OMs talking with strong signals
3215 kHz AM - Russian language, much weaker than strong signals on 3120 kHz
3225 kHz USB - Russian language
3255 kHz USB - Russian language
3320 kHz AM - Russian language, S4-S5 with lots of fading
3325 kHz USB - Russian language

Mixing in with Recycle Radio on 6874.2 kHz (AM) are some pescadores on 6880.8 kHz LSB, not sure if these are fishing fleet communications radio traffic or freebanders due to QRM is hard to tell for sure.  SIO 222

Just after 6950 AM showed up, another carrier appeared on 6925.3 kHz.  No modulation at 1908 UTC, frequency appears to be 6925.3 kHz or 6925.31 kHz

1920 UTC - some drift noticed, carrier frequency has gone up a little bit, now closer to 6925.38 or 6925.39 kHz
1935 UTC - came back to the computer, still have a carrier on 6925.39 kHz
1940 UTC - checking remote receivers now, S4-S5 signal on Rochester, NY remote SDR
1941 UTC - OM with possible ID, "Allegheny Mountain Radio"
1943 UTC - more bluegrass tunes with OM vocals
1945 UTC - YL with station ID, phone number and other information - apparently this is a commercial station being relayed by WBOG
1946 UTC - weather report
1947 UTC - back to bluegrass music, S5-S6 now with better modulation on the remote receiver
2007 UTC - signal slowly coming up locally, but still lots of noise here :(

958
"same to same 647-898-6245" "782-1912" several other numbers played at once, sounds like a bunch of ads spliced together, strong signal S7 with nice modulation

1900 UTC - music, then off

Running near the MWARA South American frequency 10024 kHz USB.  This traffic doesn't sound like aero / air traffic control communications to me.  Possibly fishing fleets.  Lots of radio checks and whistling, consistent with pescadores / fishing fleets.

Getting bits and pieces of Arabic music on 13640 kHz 13.640 MHz just past 1800 UTC on September 3rd, 2017.  SIO333 with some fading, decent copy on peaks with peaks of S5 signal strength.  Apparently Bengaluru transmitter at 500 kW power...a decent haul, and new logging for me.
